Title: Setup RRC Micro to work with ICOM 706MKIIG Remote Station

Situation: I have a normal reliable remote station - ICOM 706MKIIG and RRC-1258 boxes. Radio is on a hill top, and the control head at home. Wish to use my new RRC-Micro Client, but I get a busy notification when connecting, so have to shut the radio off. Then RRC-Micro appears to connect to the remote IP address, but of course the radio has been turned off.  Also, quite confused about the various COM ports and virtual COM ports. Any general assistance and ideas would be appreciated.

It is not possible to do that with the IC-706. The 706 can not work without the control panel. If you want to alternate between PC and control panel without changing any settings or cables , I recommend you  to use a TS-480 instead.
