Title: RRC MICRO PC CLIENT
Post by: LA4ESA on 2016-07-03, 16:07:28
I have 2 x RRC boxes RRC 1258MkII V.7.
I would like to setup my Kenwood TS-590S remotely with the RRC MICRO PC CLIENT, and use the Kenwood software ARCP 590, is that possible??
I assume that solution would be the one and only in my case?
If the ARCP 590 is not compatible on this system i'm very familiar with HRD.

The radio RRC sends the CAT data over the internet using COM2, so you can use any type of
control software, e.g. HRD, TRX-Manager, etc., as well as ARCP from Kenwood.

You may also use the RRC Micro PC Client, which is useful when traveling, however it is not
necessary if you are stationary and have a second RRC. Just pull the CAT data off of the
control RRC's COM2 port, either using a "real" serial cable, or using USB with the built-in
virtual COM port.

Thanks for your reply, i will configure this later on.
First i am testing the system with FT-857, but i'm not able to switch the radio on.
I have followed instruction manual in detail, use Dyn DNS everything ok at DDNS, but no sign of "life" at the raido end.
Do you happend to have any suggestion??

I have a lot of suggestions, but it depends upon what the problem is. You need to localize the
problem more by using the process of elimination. The first question is the most important one:
did you try it out first within the same network to make sure the setup was working before moving
offsite?
