Title: Getting CI-V on the radio side
Post by: s53zo on 2017-10-22, 00:16:53
Hi!

When working locally I use MK2R+ and it's CI-V (ACC connector) output to control OM-Power automatic amplifier.

When remote I would also like to get CI-V output on RRC-1258 MkII: Radio unit in order to control OM-Power amp, the station used is TS480. Is this possible?

I can get Kenwood RS232 data on COM1 on Radio unit and route the cable to OM-Power amplifier but it has a serial port disabled when CI-V connector is present.

Any ideas please?

I don't understand what you mean ? A Kenwood can never talk CI-V that's an ICOM language.

Hi Mike!

I have the Kenwood serial output working. My question was if I can get CI-V output next to that. Maybe by using some hardware or software converter that receives kenwood commands and sendss out CI-V commands?

Hi Simon,

At least one person has done something like that.
