my remote rig works ok but i have no s meter readings on signals coming in if i change modes they show up ok i am using a rc2000 head

Is your AGC turned off? Make sure it is on (FUNC-8 key).

Also see if you used the FUNC-5 key to change the meter to something else (manual page 19).

Your problem is not related to RemoterRig.
