Title: Wifi connected but does not control radio
Post by: kc3gem on 2018-03-05, 02:09:12
I have Yaesu 857d and am able to control the rig while on my own lan via ethernet. When I tried to install and use the wifi card I connect to my wifi but can no longer control the rig.
I plan eventually to control from internet but am stuck at this stage.

Make sure that your router is set to allow devices on your WiFi to connect to other devices on the network.
This is sometimes turned off by default.

If you need help moving.to internet control, I can send you my networking checklist that walks you through
the process. Drop me a short mail at dj0qn (at) darc.de if you want me to send it to you.

I called xfinity and they said that's not in their router.

I assume this is a normal WiFi with just the WPA2 password and no web login?

yes, I can control the radio remote using ethernet. I can connect to the wifi and see the control unit on the network but it just doesn't work to control radio.

Hi Mike,

Do you have DHCP turned off? This really needs to be turned on for the control RRC to work consistently. I bet this is why the WiFi card doesn't work and would explain the Windows problem as well.
