Hi, I am planning to remote a transceiver for vhf use mainly.
I´ve got the two of my subject, FT8900R  and IC-706MK2 (no UHF)
I am looking for advice on wich of the two is easy to configure and connect. specially without troubles.
I´ll be using the wifi board installed.
I did not purchase the RR device yet.
any advice is wellcome.

I would say that the FT-8900 is easier as the FT8900 only need standard cables

I´v got both the original cable and a copy from ebay that uses RJ cables,  both  for the IC-706.
The antena matches the ft-8900 directly without diplexer. so the 9800 is easyer to connect.
I am asking if any of them is more problematic or there is any known incompatibility.
I am also worried about the Wifi module and if it fails often.

About the wifi module. I have been using rrc control module with wifi for four years now. I have three units, for three different rigs, and they newer fail. Good sensitivity and no trouble with interference.

Well..  I´ll try with FT8900 plus wifi board on the transceiver body side.
