Title: Constant Buzzing Sound in my Transmit Audio
Post by: KG1Q on 2020-05-28, 02:39:28
I am getting reports of a constant buzzing sound in my audio, I am using a RRC-1258 mkII connected to my Kenwood TS-480HX. The buzzing only seems to be present when my control unit is running off the wifi.

This is what i've done so far

1) I have tried both wiring methods for the jumpers for the 480
2) I have tried different 12v power supplies. Even tried it off my Vehicles battery
2) I have tried running the audio quality down on 0 - alaw 8khz, the buzzing just about disappears, but so does my audio
3) I have tried running the audio at 1 - Linear 12 bits 8khz, the buzzing is reduced, but my audio reduces as well
4) I am running in program mode 5
5) I set RTP tx mode to continuous
6) Both com ports are disabled
7) I increased rx jitter buffer to 10
8) I increased rx jitter delay to 9
9) I set audio packet size to 20
10) I have checked continuity on the straps right at the socket level

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Hi

There is no known reason for buzzing sound via Wifi. Have you tried to connect to another accesspoint ?
There is no difference in levels between different codecs, but you must use codecs with the same sampling rates in both units otherwise it will not work

You might record the audio using your phone, etc. and post it here.
