Title: Controlling other radios than IC-706 with Package for IC-706
Post by: oh3bjl on 2009-09-11, 15:21:50
Hi.

Is it possible to control via internet other ICOM radios than only IC-706's
by using the package configured for IC-706. For instance, can I use this package
to control, for instance, IC-756proIII, so that I use PC and HRD at the operator end?
How about other manufacturer's radios?

Yes, you can work all (almost) CAT capable radios that use a normal serial interface.
If you can use it with HRD locally you can use it with RRC remotely.

Mikael can comment on settings and such.

Hi,

how about IC-703, is it compatible enough with ´706 to be used "as is" with RR, without HRD/PC?

Hi
Yes as far as I know IC-703 is compatible with IC-706. I haven't had the possibility to make practical tests but I almost 100% shure it will work.

Hi,

today we tried my IC-703 in Kari OH3BJL's RemoteRig setup
and it seems to work without any problems with the ´706
settings. So we can confirm RR's IC-703 compatibility!

Hi

Yes I borrowed one last week also and tested. After that I changed all info to include both IC-703 and IC-706.
Thank you for the information anyway.
