General discussion / Re: PC micro com port 1
« on: 2018-02-04, 17:39:27 »
Hi

why shouldn't it work ? You set up a com port in the RRC-micro in the same way as you do for the radio control. it's no difference. RCC-Micro can transfer 3 com ports.

73 de mike

Mike, that's great. I agree it should work.
Can you give me the settings to use both for the PC Micro and the radio RRC
box to make it all work with a green herron rotor control???

as I stated above when I use the RRC control to the radio RRC I used mode 3, charactor time out
and everything works as it should..
Mode 3 charactor time out is NOT available as a PC Micro setting.
So which setting should I choose to get it all working??

Thank you for a great product and support.

best 73,   Ray

Configuration, RRC 1258 / TS-480 VOX
« on: 2017-11-10, 13:18:47 »
Hello,

My setup
Win 10
TS 480
RRC with latest firmware

With a mic and PTT everything works.
With a mic and VOX, it doesn't.

If I hook the radio control head directly to the radio without remote rig, VOX works as it should.
WiTh the rig remoted, no go.

I've checked all jumpers. I've tried two different radios as well as two different control and radio boxes.

What am I missing???

Thanks, Ray

I have a green hereon rotor controller attached to the radio RRC.
When using the control RRC I had it as the port 1 set to mode 3, character time out.
How can I set the virtual comport 1 in the PC micro to control com pot 1 on the radio RRC for my rotor???

thank you for an excellent product

Configuration, Webswitch 1216H / Re: 1216 + Steppir SDA 100

if the SDA is not on "autotrack" just use the web interface to move up or down a few clicks on "fine" and it switches back to autotrack and all should be well....

Feature Requests / RC1216H serial port
« on: 2015-12-21, 17:28:18 »
I request a serial port option for the Rotor control of the RC1216H similar to that available for the Expert 1K. That way I could use the web based control window but still have the option of using my logging interface to turn the rotor along with rig control with one click on the spotting window.

That would free up com1 to be a CAT to the amp.

thanks for your consideration AND for making a wonderful product line.

seasons greetings

when I use the winkey with the little demo program from the winkey web site, mine works great. But when I use thw winkey app in my logging program (logic 9) it will send the first "title" of the macro out as code and then only the first 3 characters of the macro it's self.

I just opt for using the demo program as it seems to do what I need...

see if this resolves your problem. then you'll know if it is a rrc issue, a radio issue or a software issue...

have you checked to see that the 480 has the latest firmware? Just to cover all bases.

I have a 480 and am following all threads with "480" in the header... Trying to avoid common problems....

hope you get it resolved and report back so we can all learn.

I use dyn for domain at my remote site. I navigate to the domain name wither I am at the remote site on it's local network or elsewhere in the world. Only one profile needed...

maybe I am making apples into oranges???

Jan, Mike, any thoughts on this? Is it possible to control a rotor from the com1 of rrc-1258?

I have tried a straight through cable with every setting under the "serial" tab with and without flow control with no luck....

Thank you

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / rotor to com1???
« on: 2015-12-04, 23:18:06 »
My setup: TS-480 with control head plugged into RRC-control, RRC-remote is attached to body of radio. I have a PC attached via USB for winkey and also via com 2 mode 4 for PC control of radio cat (via Logic9 running on windows 10). I want to attach com1 to my green herron and run that from either logic or the green herron ap.

How do I set com 1 in control and radio RRC and what cable???

Logic control of cat is running perfectly

logic built in winkey app is not so good. It sends first three letters in string then starts over and leaves last three letters of string off so I am using the demo from winkey till I find a better way.

Thanks for your help with com1
