Hi,

I'm not able to use my remote setup anymore. I hear some popping sound on the radio side, but the screen doesn't work.
Status on the control RRC is:
Control panel   ON
Radio   ON
Connection status   Faulty(See below)
SIP status   Connected/transfering
Last SIP error   None
RTP status   Excellent(60)
UDP cmd status   Error(0)
SIP command timeout   0
Rx Jitter buffer size   4
Rx Jitter delay   3
Dual Rx   0
Current audio packet size   20
...
DNS status OK

on the Radio RRC status looks ok:
Radio   ON
Connection status   OK
SIP status   Connected/transfering
Last SIP error   None
RTP status   Excellent(60)
UDP cmd status   OK(45)
SIP command timeout   0
Rx Jitter buffer size   7
Rx Jitter delay   6
Dual Rx   0
Current audio packet size   20

Since I only see some error message on the control part, I guess this side is somewhat suspicious.
I'm using a TS480.

what does "UDP cmd status   Error(0)" on the control side actually mean?
It seems connection is ok, except for the UDP cmd?!? part.

Please help

Thanks!
Johan.

General discussion forum / DNS problems?
« on: 2014-01-28, 20:35:15 »
Hi,

Anyone experiencing a DDNS problem? I can connect to remote webswitch and radio by using <ipadres>:port, but not via <ddnsadress>:port
I worked for months, but today not.

The result of the ddns query via http://ddns.remoterig.com/status/resulthost.php gives me the remote address which I can use to connect to all devices, strange isn't it?

Any idea?

Hi all,

When I connect to the CAT COM port on the remote side through HRD, I'm getting this digital noise in my TX audio as background. Hard to explain, but I'm sure the origin is digital..
So not really RFI, but actually the other way around. When I disconnect my local USB cable (and hence disconnect the CAT session) the distortion is gone.
When I don't setup a remote CAT session via the virtual COM port, I don't have this problem.
Seems the problem is located on the remote side, but I wonder how to solve this? Any idea what causes this?
(strapping is made according the the manual, the right TS480 model has been taken into account.. )

General discussion forum / can't turn on remote rig (ts480)
« on: 2013-12-14, 17:46:00 »
Hi,

Everything is working fine if I connect everything (remote and control RRC) to a router on the remote side.
Problem starts when trying to connect remotely via internet.
on the control side, I can access the webswitch and the radio RRC via http (port forwarding). I did put remote and local rrc both in DMZ on the router. If I turn on the radio RRC I hear a beep on the control panel, so they do see each other, but I can't turn on the radio.

On the control side status I see:
Name   Value
Control panel   ON
Radio   ON
Connection status   Faulty(See below)
SIP status   Connected/transfering
Last SIP error   None
RTP/UDP audio status   Stalled(18)
UDP cmd status   Error(0)

On the radio rrc I see following status:
Name   Value
Radio   ON
Connection status   OK
SIP status   Connected/transfering
Last SIP error   None
RTP status   Excellent(60)
UDP cmd status   OK(44)

So it seems to be something on the control side? Any idea please?

General discussion forum / remoterig - TS480 - expert 1K
« on: 2013-10-08, 13:56:10 »
Hi,

I’m about to order some remoterig equipment for my setup. But to save some extra shipping costs, I really want to be sure I have all I need .
I’d like to control my TS480 and Yaesu rotor (for which I don’t have a controller). I also want to use an expert 1K remotely. Also want to do CW and digital modes (psk, rtty, ..)
I figured I needed this for voice communication:
- set of RRC-1258MkIIs (http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=1051) + 12V adapters
- webswitch 1216H + 12V adapter
- rotor remote control 1216L

I could make the cables myself. I have another 20V power supply which will be used to turn the rotor CW or CCW. This 20v could be switched by the 1216L.

But I wonder what I actually need to get digital modes working:
Based on the drawing at page http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=362 I only need a cat cable (Kenwood CAT Cables K14c,K15c ?)  between transciever and RRC. Is this the only thing I need? On the controlling side I would only use a PC with HRD. Or am I missing something here?

Could you please confirm this is indeed all I need?
I guess both the Radio-RRC and the RRC-amplifier cables are all documented, so this should be easy to make..

Thanks!

General discussion forum / customize webswitch menu
« on: 2013-09-24, 13:52:17 »
Hi,

I'm still considering to buy the webswitch to control some AC power sockets on the remote station. However, I'd like to combine relay 1 and 2 for 1 single action: turning on the main power to the remote server rack. relay 1 will switch phase L1, relay 2 phase L2.. So It would be nice to have this on the website with 1 single button.
Is it possible to customize these menus?
(Havent bought one yet, so I'm not able to try these things out.. )
