General discussion forum / New Remoterig
« on: 2012-03-31, 06:45:01 »
I need a small sized remoterig with micro USB connectors and software controlled wiring matrix (no jumpers anymore)
it should have a 80211n WLAN and Ethernet Connector.
Audio I/O over USB for digimodes, so you have to connect just one single Wire.
Bluetooth Pairing with Headsets, Wireless USB optional.
it should fit on the backside of the TS-480 Head Unit, if possible with an li ion accumulator.
the goal is to use the remoterig in a car with UMTS connection and unplug a simple dc connector, and use them e.g in a ham meeting (restaurant)
or something else, without a ghetto of wires and other weird things.

General discussion forum / Remoterig PTT DTR on

PTT if DTR on
someone is able to write such a virtual com port driver or is HRD deluxe able to do that task with its own virtual comport stuff?

I am looking for a Bluetooth Audio Transceiver for a little Project.
1. Build a little Box (250x150x60) to put the RRC Control Unit into a little case with the 480 Head unit on top of it with proper batteries and the stuff described below in the case.
2. Connect the RRC Control with an Ethernet Bridge Unit (5ghz) to a existing WLAN/AP
3. Using a Bluetooth Audio Transceiver to connect the Unit to a Netbook and Bluetooth Headset
4. Using some sort of a keyfob transmitter for the PTT.

The Idea behind is using this little thing in Ham Radio Meetings (Restaurants) without tons of wires.
The Cell Phone is acting as an AP.

So someone knows where i could get a proper Bluetooth Transceiver with analogue audio I/O?

General discussion / Garbling Noise with mic
« on: 2011-05-06, 03:19:47 »
i own a Samson C03 U, if i use them as Mic i hear some garbling noise.
on Virtual Audio cable i hear noticeable background noise
is there a way to fix that, because it seems to be a problem with the software.
on other VOIP Programs like skype or msn i dont have any garbling noise

General discussion / PTT Keying 2

Please add to the PC Client a functionality: it should read the CTS status of the Comport(s). so we can build a small interface for a external PTT (Foot Key or maybe a Ham Desktop Mic).
Maybe thats a few lines of code
you also should add a Timeout timer if someone sleeps on the mic holding PTT

I found a simple and reliable way to connect the existing Remoterig Radio Control to a Wireless Lan.
The Nanostation M5 is a very professional low cost solution, with Power over Ethernet (15V PSU works), you just have to put a Ethernet Wire to the mast, and install the Nano Station M5 on the mast, that would easily connect a 3-4 Mile far away WLAN Access Point.
i didnt find any better solution on the market with the same price/value
its using 802.11an (5GHz and speed is up to 70mbit Full duplex real life througput)

General discussion / Micophone Input
« on: 2011-04-20, 14:41:58 »
I got a USB Condenser Mic, could i select the Condenser Mic from the List?
2nd.
If i got Virtual Audio Cable installed does it accept the Virtual Audio cable Input as input?
Example:
(MMSSTV-> (Virtual Audio Cable Output) --- >  (RRC Micro Software) --> (Virtual Audio Cable In))
2nd. PTT Keying

Is it possible to use VOX in this Programm so a noise gate dsp part in the program could also activate PTT?

General discussion / PTT Keying
« on: 2011-04-20, 14:25:21 »
Please if someone reads this.
Please add an additional PTT Jack, so we(i) can use a Foot Keying device such as a Monacor FS20 or FS30 to PTT.
its ok with a 3.5mm Jack.
Please add that for future Generations.
otherwise you have to drill holes into the case to modify the PTT Keyer and that sucks!
so you are hand-free at the desk and stuff.

Additional Request:
Please use 4 pole 3.5mm Jacks and a Y Adapter Cable with two 3.5mm Jack couplers and at the front a 4 3.5mm Jack plug, so you can use the line out plug for PTT and the Jack simultaneously.

For the CW keyer you could use the same trick but on the 3.5mm mic input.
but i think there are already some USB paddles available maybe.

General discussion forum / Bandwidth consumption
« on: 2011-03-01, 04:59:35 »
Someone tell me the average Bandwidth consumption?
I would like to install this Rig on a tall mountain and there is no internet connection available so i have to use Wireless Internet using a Netgear 3G Router (HSDPA end to end latency 200ms).
The Bandwidth limit is 10GB/Month
