Hi,

I am operating a K3 in remote configuration. Everything works fine except the built in Win-Keyer. It will not produce clean CW with my log program (UcxLog). It is sounding extremly shortened and some characters are missing. Switching options in the log program does not help.
Paddle or straight key works fine...
I solved the problem for me using a MicroKeyer II doing all the audio and the cw stuff. Only RTTY is done with the RRC box via the usb port, because i cannot use it as a Win Keyer.
Used firmware version is 2.90.

Maybe the keyer implementation is still a little bit buggy?

Hi Mitch,

thank you for your suggestions.

I will use the 3.5mm plug for the mic. I will check the internal jupers tomorrow. I am aware of which settings are on remote and control site... With the MircoRRC it works, so something with the settings or installation on control site is nasty.

According CAT control: Here as well, it works with the activated USB port as suggested and also with the MicroRRC. But not with a serial cable (strait or crossed on COM1), internal change from using USB or not was done... If it was not working with the USB port or with the MicroRRC I would check the settings but it does...  ???

Configuration, RRC 1258 / K3/Mini Sound and Serial problem
« on: 2016-03-20, 19:03:02 »
Hi,

last days I changed the transeiver at my home remote location to the K3 and using the K3/Mini to control the remote radio.
The setup is not new and it worked as suggested, in CW.

But I like to use the setup in SSB as well. I am using a Heil Pro Micro attached at the Mini without any success. I have tried several settings on remote site as well on the control site (setting the K3/Mini in local config by pressing MENU longer than two secounds) But I will not get any audio to the K3... I tested full MIC gain with full Comp settings, not generating any output... Using the RRCMicro, audio is working, so I suggest the remote site is fine...  ??? ???
Can anybody tell me the correct local setting for the K3/Mini (rP or fP)? Or do you have any other suggestion?

Second problem is to control the remote site via CAT commands from the logging software. I have COM1 parallel to COM2 (or the recommended setting, I am not sure in the moment and i cannot confirm it right now) and can control the rig via COM1 to USB. But I like to attach my serial port directly the RRC on COM1. I changed COM1 to USB to no, but without any success. I also changed the normal serical cable to a null modem cable with a gender changer, nothing works. Set all the things back to USB, it works... ??? ???

Who can give me any hints to solve my problems?

EDIT: I have a second RRC control unit here, with the same results...

General discussion forum / TS480 RRC1258 CW problem
« on: 2015-11-19, 07:41:22 »
Hi,

I am using here a TS480 with the RFC1258 (FW 2.87) setup. It works fine here on the bench in my local network. And I made a few QSOs with a paddle directly connected to the control-rrc, all working as expected. :)

But using the WinKeyer emulation, my Cw gets garbeled, it sends often only the first letter and then often it will not react anymore (as terminal I am using UcxLog with WinKeyer support). First I thought about an incompatibility between the Winkeyer-Emulation and the logging software. I then checked it with the RRCMicro. Listening works as expected as well, but sending macros for example does not make fun, the text is shortened and garbeled. The first letters are ok, but then a few letters a missing and at the end, the transmission gets unreadable due to uncorrect keyings... >:( :(

So I geuess I ahve a problem here with the CW settings. Does anybody knows a clue to get it fixed? Thank you!

Hi again,

I just made another test on the second pc. The software is showing itself as a trial version, but I can send CW signals (the test went out...)
See picture. So I guess it must be an software problem...

General discussion / RRCMicro Trial period...
« on: 2015-02-01, 12:06:34 »
Hi,

I am trying to get my RRCMicro remote setup running.
I installed a few months ago the RRCMicro client software and I got a connection to my RRC1258. Later I bought the 1274A but my "software trial period" is over.
Ok, by plugging in the dongle, and after the typical windows usb sound I am getting a few new sound devices, they are working fine (tested). But my trial period is still remaining outdated…

I deinstalled the software completely (hopefully) and tried the new version 1.7. Nothing changed… I have attached a picture of the device manager. System is Windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried to get a working setup on another pc, also with Windows 8.1. Here I do not have any trial period problems, but there is only listening supported, for my understanding, the dongle is not working correctly.

Does one of you have an idea to get it running or should I consider the dongle as broken?
