My only other question would be, and it would expensive to buy, try and find out, if rigs like the Kenwood TM-742 or other VHF/UHF mobiles will work on extended remote control (unlike the Yaesu.)

We have previously invested in 4 TM-742, which do not have RS-232 or other PC programming or control support.

The undesirable alternative would be to buy all newer Icom or Kenwood VHF/UHF rigs that do support RS-232/CI-V remote control, on top of the cost for RemoteRig appliances for each.

Thank you. Interesting data!

I am considering an installation of several radios, multi-band VHF/UHF, where the operators and acceptable RF location are separated by several hundred feet, but interconnected by fiber/Ethernet/TCPIP.

Short of using

The present radios are tri-band Kenwood mobiles (50/144/440, 144/220/440, 144/440/1200) but may have to be replaced depending on the support for them offered by 'RemoteRig'.

Will the 1258MkII support common mobile radios with remote heads - Yaesu FT-8800, FT-8900, etc. ?  It would be IDEAL if each rig's control head could be simply remoted via proxy through this potentially wonderful appliance!
