Im curious, what are the relative levels from codec input to output and vice-versa, it would be better to say input 0dBr output -6dBr for example, it would be much more easy to set levels, im assuming the pre-amp is used only for low level mic, if you wish to use at line level (0dB) you would have the pre-amp off?

Im also getting the same when click dyn dns status on radio end. FW Ver 2.36, everthing works otherwise.
the dns does update within few sec when radio end is rebooted.

I have set up the USB virtual Com2 port, im finding it has a delay of few seconds after making a vfo/mode change.
Using the PC Serial Com1 port I get no delay when plugged into the local end Com2 on RPC1258.
My set up:
WinXP SP3
RPC1258 f/w ver 2.35, Mar 17 2011 11:06:54
Virtual USB Serial to RPC1258. Com5
Dell Latitude laptop D610 1.4Ghz 1Gig Ram
Cat Program Yaesu PCC for FT-450 (yaesu own cat program)
3G wireless link to remote site, ADSL2 at local end.
Befor I junk my old Dell Laptop is there known problems with the virtual Com2 USB port?

As Im also using VoIP I changed the SIP port to 5090, in fact you can used any port between 1025-65536, im sure your ISP will allow common apps ports, then again your ISP is not giving you a Public IP address, behing a NAT firewall.

7
I suggest does your UMTS service have a full public IP or behind a NAT, some Accounts are only NAT IP and not public IP.
do a tracert to a know host, check what address is the USB router Private NAT or public IP.

I make use of my remote rig box and dyndns to allow access of a embedded microcontroler with the 1 dyndns url.
port forward setup as:
remote rig web 8000>8000 (changed from default 80)
embedded microcontroler web 8900>80
router access 80> router web

Also using FW2.26 with dyndns, I have had no problems  using Bigpond Wireless NextG as well using a embedded microcontroller web server, have had no problems resolving both via dyndns url. router has port forward to internal private IP for Remoterig Box and embedded server using port 8000 and 8090.

Im looking at using the CW keyer lines for general use switch control, to control 2 relays at my remote end, can the keyer out support switching a 12 volt relay @ 100mA coil current?
Also comferm there are 3 bidirectional keyer lines, for general use if not using CW keying function?

Im also a happy remote rig user, have a Yaesu FT-450 and my weekender remote location 120 kms west of Melbourne , using solar power, with 3G router for the link (shaped 64kbit Bigpond Liberty Wireless) , whole setup used aprox 20 amp hours per day, with few hours use each day  :)
The HF noise floor at the remote location is under S1, at my Home location its S9+

My Micophone for a FT-450 has a active circuit and need 5 volt supply @100mA (Yaesu MH67) to operate, I also have a DTMF Mic it requires 5 volts also.
Looking at the strapping notes, is there a 8 volt pin, if so, I will wire up a 7805LS voltage reg to provied 5 volts out to power the Mic will make a small daughter board with the voltage reg with leads to connect to the MIC/AUX strapping block.
As a temp solution im using a old 600 ohm dynamic hand Mic , it works ok.

I have loaded FW 2.26, it now works much much better, as a experement I ran a voice only radio programme accross the link using ADPCM, lt  good as a G711 Telephone Codec, ill give a 4/5 for qualiity, its a solution to my 3G wireless link :D
Thanks for the Great Work Mike :)

Hi Mike,
The Radio at the remote end is a Yaesu FT-450, the volume is not changed, also to isolate the radio being the cause, I have unplugged the CAT interface.
Im suspecting the problem is due to excessive delay on the 3G side, Its like the ADPCM codec looses its reference and the next packet it gets It cant remenber the last packet volume, I have updated to Ver 2.25 FW
Im guessing the Codec is at its Limit with my shaped and delay link.

Im finding in the 8khz 4bit, ADPCM Codec mode,(audio quailty 12) im getting volume change hits, on the remote to base end, the SIP and  connect status is ok, Im guessing Volume changes aprox 10-13dB in rapid succession, seems to happen 20% of the time, ping time to hosts under 200mS.
