As always, thanks Roland!

Got it working again.  Now looking forward to implementing the CW send.

General discussion / HRD stopped working

Hi,
I have upgraded to the latest (64 bit) RRC micro client. Following this Ham Radio Deluxe stopped working.  I notice that there are now 3 additional microbit com ports (6,7 & 8).  HRD used to work fine using the COM 3 and now gives an error message. It does not like any of the microbit com ports.  The RRC micro connects fine to the radio but there us no control using HRD.  Thanks for any help.

General discussion / New Install on Win 7
« on: 2011-03-21, 21:09:09 »
Hi,

I just got my Micro RRC and have been installing to a 64 bit Win 7 laptop.  I have installed the latest (64) client and am unable to connect to my 1258 MK II.  I am using COM 0 with an ICOM C-IV setup on Microbit UDP Com 3.   I have a green light on COM 3 and an orange on the link indicator. I says it is connecting to my DynDNS IP.  Then it times out with a long Windows error message starting with System.NullReference Exception ....at Microbit.GUI.Main. <Call>b_1().....

What's my next step?  Deleting and reinstall or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks,

David

General discussion forum / Re: ICOM CI-V and HRD not working

Hi Mike,

I had to leave the units unfinished for several weeks for a number of reasons but am now back at it.  I have made com 2 inactive on both ends as you suggested.  I still have audio and PTT communication between control and radio but absolutely no luck in getting the CI-V to talk to HRD.  I have checked and rechecked the cables for wiring issues and have also put a CI-V converter cable direct to the 746 to make sure the port is working on the radio.  I note that the status pages of both units do not agree. Control says radio is OFF.  Radio says radio is on.  SIP on both say "connected/transferring" with no errors. Output 0 on radio is low while on Control it is high.  I have read and re-read the manual and am now utterly stumped.

General discussion forum / ICOM CI-V and HRD not working
« on: 2010-10-07, 21:45:09 »
Hi,

I am attempting to remote an Icom 746 (non-Pro) through a 1258 Mk II.  I have been able to connect the units, getting audio out of the remote and PTT and transmit audio reaches the radio side.  I have HRD 5.0 on the (now local) remote PC and have thus far been unable to get an HRD connection through the Remoterig.
Com 1 from the PC is connected to Com 2 on the Control unit.  I have configured Com2 as 1-ICOM in the Radio settings as well as Mode 2- ICOM in the Serial settings.  The Control unit has the cable prepared from the TTL to the CI-V jack on the radio.

Any attempt to connect to the radio in HRD using the 746 setting fails.  What should I try next?

General discussion forum / Re: Setup Manager download?

Update:

I snoozed the anti-virus (not real happy about that) and installed 1.5 which was not locked out.  I was able to connect to both units.  I updated the firmware (taking the snooze precaution first) and changed the IP addresses to ones compatible with my Linksys router.  Is there a reason to try to re-install 1.7?

Also I note the DNS is 192.168.0.1.  Is this something I can also change?

Sorry to be a pain.

Mike,

I downloaded it from another machine. As soon as I attempt to transfer it to the shack computer to work on the boxes CA anti-virus flags it as infected with the Trojan Win32/poisonivy.DC and deletes it. Not sure what I can do next short of rebuilding another machine and not putting anti virus on it.

I tried to download setup manager yesterday and got virus warnings.  Now it has disappeared.  Any word on when these might be available?  Without them I can not install and my 1258's are useless.  Thanks for any help.
