General discussion forum / Changing QTH and router
« on: 2014-02-24, 07:52:40 »
Hi all
I have resetted the configuration of the control box to work with a new router and now I am working again with my old router but I can't connect.
My local IP is 192.168.1.104
Submask 255.255.255.0
DNS/Gateway 192.168.1.1

I setted this values
Local IP of the control box: 192.168.1.227
Gateway / DNS 192.168.1.1
SIP contact is a fix IP in the remore location

But tried all the combinations, downloaded the latest firmware and setupmanager, setted my old router to allow IP 192.168.1.227, forwarded for both directions the port 80.

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks

Hi Mitch
Thanks for the info. First I have to reset the router to the status before the setting of the IP forwarding and then I will try to set another port for the RRC. I hope it will work.

General discussion forum / Multiple IPs forwarding

Hi all
I have forwarded the IP of the RRC in my remote router. Now, when I try to access to my remote fixed IP I see only the RRC interface and I cannot access to the remote PC. Is this problem due to the fact that my router doesn't support multiple IP's? Should I change router and buy a router that supports multiple IP forwarding ? Knows anyone a model of this genre ?
Thanks to all for the support

Hi Thomas thanks
Now the Rig is completely working, straight key, paddle, mic. etc. !
My RJ45 cable had not exactly the same colors of the PIN of the manual....

Hi all
After some successful qso's in cw with my paddle I tried to connect my straight key, but sincerely I don't understand where to connect the 2 terminals of the key. From the i/o output on the control rrc I connected PIN 4 and 8 but nothing happens. I dont' want to try other combinations and cause a damage to the unit  :-[
What is wrong ?

Hi Mark
Done, nothing, also with VOX activated. Have I forgotten some settings in the ts480?

Hi All
After succesful installation of my remoterig, when I try to trasmit on CW with a paddle I have only the local sidetone, I can't transmit. Is this do to the wrong remote connection to my ts480, "straight key" jack instead of "paddle" jack ?

Thanks Guy and Mark
Unfortunately I have no cable here for the remote audio output of the ts480, but this is in fact not a tragedy. Yes, I have a laptop, but what should I test with it? I can ping the fixed IP of the remote PC, switch off and on the ts480 via HRD and control the remote PC via TeamViewer, but this is not sufficient, what I need is to be 100% sure that all connections of the boxes are OK when I return to my QTH.
But this is also not so tragic if I can control the remote PC and router from the local QTH, I hope....

Hi all
I am preparing my installation and I would like to use it also with HamRadioDeluxe. If I control the TS480 with HRD, can I split the audio signal from the Spekaer output of the ts480, one cable to the line in of the pc and the other cable to the speaker in of the box.
I have only a great problem: the remote rig is 350km far from my qth and I cannot test the station before returning to my QTH , if something goes wrong I can use the alternate audio from the PC via Skype and remote control software.
Has anyone already experience with this solution?
Thanks to all

Many thanks Guy and Simon :)
Saturday I go to the remote location. Since it is 350 km far from my local QTH, all settings and connections and strappings must be OK.
I can acces to my remote PC, router and RRC from the local PC, so if something goes wriong when I return to the local QTH, I think there will be no problem to resetting some values of the remote shack, is it correct?
The only thing I cannot change are the connections, but this is no a great problem..

Hi Guy, YES, it works, I changed it to 192.168.1.227  :o
What should I do in the remote location with FIX IP 213.3......?
Do I in the local SIP contact enter the FIX IP or the local RRC IP (I will change it too to 192.168.1.228 since the remote router has IP 192.168.1.1)

Hi Simon
Thanks, I resume the situation:
RRC is connected both with USB AND Router
Now my IP adress is
188.61.119.87
In the remote location I have a fix IP starting with 213.3......
Why do you not reccomend to change my local IP ?
