The procedure described here works FB for Windows 8.  The same thing must be done on Windows 8.1 Preview; however the procedure is a bit different.  Go to    http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/       for the steps to disable driver signature verification.

General discussion / Re: COM 1 with version 1.5.1

That is very interesting Mike.  This week, I am going to move my FT-2000 over to RRC-1258 COM 1 and then see if I can get the rotor software/RT-21 to work on COM 2.  I will see if I can get either the rotor or SPE amp to work on COM 0.  The GH RT-21 and the SPE amp only require TXD,RXD,and GND  in order to work. (I let the FT-2000 turn the SPE amp on/off).

New Subject.  You may recall that a few months ago the code in the RRC-1258 was modified to turn the FT-2000 on when RRC-Micro connected.  This was done to work around a bug in HRD.  With Version 1.5, all of the FT-2000 CAT software we now have available except HRD can turn the radio ON.  I vote to remove the software patch.  I have deleted HRD FOREVER!!!

Today, I connected my GH RT-21 rotor controler to COM 1 of the RRC-1258 box and tried using YO3DMU's PstRotorAz on RRC-micro to control the RT-21.  It did not work.  I have never seen any RXD/TXD activity on COM 1 of the RRC-1258 box when using RRC-Micro.  On the RRC-Micro screen, I could see PstRotor polling for data on the COM 1 light.

Hello Mike.
Thank you for the prompt reply.  I think you are right.  It is a SPE software problem.  I tried to use the software using COM 2, which I know is working, and I got the same results as I had using COM 1.

If you can come up with a WEB based system for the SPE 1k-FA amp,  I will be happy to buy another RRC-1216H! HI

General discussion / COM 1 with version 1.5.1
« on: 2012-04-13, 23:06:30 »
COM 2 has been working so well with any CAT software I have tried, I wanted to try using RRC-micro to monitor my Expert 1K-FA Amp on COM 1.  I have been doing this using a RRC-1258 to RRC-1258 for some time.  I have set RRC-micro COM 1 to use virtual COM 2 and the Expert 1k-FA software seemed to like COM 2; but I have not been able to send or receive any data from the amplifier.  I have put a RS-232 monitor in the line between the amp and the RRC-1258 box and I never see any RXD or TXD activity.  I do see a green light blink on the RRC-Micro COM 1 every second or so which appears that the software is polling the amp for data.  I have tried using both CHAR by CHAR settings and User defined settings with a terminor of 0d ( this is what I use with the RRC-1258 to RRC-1258).

I see from the forum that some people have been using COM 1 for rotor control, so I must be doing something wrong.  Anyone have any ideas?

Apparently Windows is VERY slow to release ports.  I found that after re-starting RRC-Micro V 1.5, PCC-2000 worked FB.  Then re-starting again to reset the port, FT2000RC would run FB.  Ahhhh, life is good.  :)  Thanks a million Roland for the new version!!!

General discussion / Version 1.5

I was very exceited to see version 1.5; however I can not get it to work properly.  I can connect to the RRC box.  When I connect, the radio turns on and I receive audio just like previous versions.  I can never get COM 0, COM 1 or COM 2 to show green.  In fact the COM 0,1 and 2 lights on RRC Micro never do anything.  I cannot connect to the radio using PCC-2000 or FT2000RC.

I set RRC Micro to have COM 2 use COM 3 on my computer and both PCC-2000 and RT2000RC now show COM 3 as a valid port.

I am using the RC-1216H as a rotor controler.  It would be nice if we had another button beside the POWER button that would control the AUX SW1 relay.

So 2.01 is to be thought of as two separate numbers, 2 and 01, and since 01 is the same as 1 the version is 2.1

I received my RC-1216H on January 21, 2012.  It was shipped on December 26, 2011.  The box was received with firmware version 2.1.  The latest firmware now available on the WEB site is version 2.01 dated 2012-01-24.  It appears that I have firmware that will not be available for several months in the future!  OOOOhhh!!!!! HI

Mike,
I am set-up for telnet.  E/mail me at w7ao@yahoo.com and I will reply with the URL and pswd for the unit.  Have not had time today to try the TWIN unit so it will be the standard RRC 1258 MkII.

Mike,
I think you should take another look at the Yaesu ON/OFF fix.  Yesterday, I saw the radio start when RRC-Client connected.  I tryed it two times and it worked and I thought the problem was solved.  When I tried later in the day, the radio would not turn on and has not turned on after many tries last night.  If I change the radio type in HRD to FT-950, as you suggested, the radio comes on every time with I start HRD.  Something not right here.  Today, I will flash my RRC-1258-TWIN box to V2.48 and try in Mode 10.

Now have radio turning on A-Okay when RRC-Client connects.  Had cable disconnected.  Sorry about that.

I installed V 2.48 in RRC 1258-Radio today and I still do NOT turn the radio on when RRC-Client connects.  I am using Mode 4.
