The 1216H needed a hardware reboot, after cutting 12V, waiting a few seconds and rebooting the unit, it worked okay. Soft reboot via Software "restart device" was not sufficient.

Same Problem here, Firmware Vers. 4.24 and no reasonable indications on the web interface with chrome and edge. Using the RC1216H as a terminal server via port 3001 and the k1fa-command software works fine, so the rs232-cable must be ok and no usb-cable in use. You can use the power switches, but the amp seems not to start. Checking the status with the k1fa-software shows it up and running. Very strange!

Is anybody out there who operates the ACOM2000A with the new RCU? In a setup, the 2000A with the old rcu works perfectly together with the 1216H. When swapping the rcu to the new model, there is no power up possible. Is there any difference in the power-up design between new and old RCU? In the old RCU, the power-up was initialized by closing pin 5 and pin 9 of the RCU-cable. That doesn't work with the new RCU.

Any ideas?

General discussion forum / Re: Using PACTOR and RMS Express

Hi  Don

The pactor modem has to be located at the remote site, due to switchover-time requierments of 20msec for pactor. But there is no problem to control the ptc via the serial interface of the remoterig boxes, this part of the installation is not time critical, so you may send the serial output for your rms express software via pc-rs232 to your remoterig box at the control site and connect your ptc to the other remoterig-box at the radio site.

This is a very interesting discussion. I had some issues with my webswitch operating as antenna rotator-interface with an old hygain-rotator. Sometimes you could start the rotator, the brake is open, but the rotator appeared to be blocked. Listening to the signals, I had the impression that the antenna is turning despite the static view of the display. Other users had the same issues. Switching off the SPI in the router solved this problem, now the display is working fine again!
Had this issue on a dlink-router.

Just downloaded and installed the Iphone-App for Webswitches, works great, just brush up your webswitch to the newest firmware release, install the app on your Ipad or Iphone and it works. Congrats and thanks to the developpers!

I recommend the MFJ-998, excellent tuner in use at my public remote and works flawlessly with my acom2000, it's fully automatic and has a good protection devices.

Did you switch on the debug mode by mistake? This could cause the permanent reboot of the box...

Had same issue at a customer's installation. Problem solved by changing port 5060 to another port, was used by router for telephone connections. Even when there was no phone connected to the router, audio dropouts appeared due to port collisions.

Only one user can operate the station at the same time, when the station is active, remoterig gives a warning sound for other users trying to connect the station. It's not a problem to configure several panel-clients for the same station, but it's a single user system. TS-2000 panels are not easy to find on the market, but as a client you can use any radio control software. Newer generations of the tm-d700 panels are similar to rc-2000, maybe you can find some used tm-d700.

My acoms are operated as a closed system together with the antenna switch, so this was not the problem. As I told before, the problem is not the adapter, that's a fine piece of hardware. The problem is the dialog between the controlling application and the firmware of the amp. In some situations communication between external devices and the acom 2000 goes lost. Even switching on the amp was impossible under some circumstances.  That's also confirmed by the developper of the TRX-Manager, he knows why he writes a disclaimer for operations of Acom2000 with TRX-Manager. I don't like smoking amps, frequent reboots or unnecessary car rides to "hanging" remote sites so I go the easier and safer way with simple switches and a webcam. A good example for a good software controlled amp is the expert, but this amp has other disadvantages (no Kilowatt key down, emc-problems).

the remote adapter is well done, but doesn't solve the problem of the lousy firmware in the amplifier. Tried this adapter, but was not really reliable, not due to the adapter, but due to the firmware. Believe me, the switch-version is by far the best, I have several of these amps running at remote locations and I know what I am speaking about ;D

Sometimes I also have troubles configuring a remote-rig-box via USB. Usually it helps when I activate the eternet port by simply plugging the box into an ethernet switch. When the control led of the port is on, the usb-port works fine.

unfortunately this does not help, most of pulse switches are time critical, so the pulse range should be variable between 1-20 seconds.

Thanks Peder for the info, but no new boxes needed, just a little software modification for the existing webswitch. Implementing of a settable timer to generate switching pulses of selectable duration, that's what I'm asking for. Pulses should be negative (switch connected device off for a few seconds and go back to "on" status - eg for reset of a router) or positive switching (switch on for a few seconds, then switch off again - remote control of pulse switches).
