Hi

Yes you can do it but you need to have the RRC-1258MkII Control box also with you. You connect the TS-480 Head to the RRC and then the RRC to your laptops Ethernet port. The WLAN interface in Windows should be setup as shared. Then it works. Of course it also depends on the quality of the Internet connection.

Hi

yes in the quality 9-11 ( 24 kHz sample rate) the codec handles up to 12 kHz bandwitdh
but there are a few analog components on the LF paths which filter the passband so you do not get a flat response from 300-12 000 Hz.

Hi

As far a I can see it's possible to control the PA from a PC via a RS-232 port.
Then it should be possible to control via Remoterig. I didn't find the Technical supplement
where it should be described. But maybe someone already have tried

Nej det kommer inte att gå i så fall, det måste monteras en annan Codec

Hi

You must send me print screens of your setups if I should be able to help you further. If all is setup OK it should not be any problem.

I still do not understand what you mean by the monitor problem.  I don't know what the mic-PTT has to do with  CW transmitting. At the back of the IC-706 there is a PTT output which should key the PA. The delay of the output is also adjustable to avoid arches.

Hi

Until we introduce a stereo codec I think the simpliest and cheapest way is to use two pair of Remoterig boxes.
The solution you describe might be possible but it need external boxes and software development within the RRC.
A  stereo codec is only cents more expensive than the mono codec.

Hi

As people have start asking for stereo audio, we will consider replacing the mono codec with a stereo codec. But even if we make the change to morrow it takes several month before it will come out of production.
The existing hardware is not possible to update to stereo.

Hi

The most experienced Remoterig user in the US might be Rick  K6VVA who uses a pair together with a pair of TS480 for his remote SO2R station. Im sure he will answer ev. questions.

Hi
I guess that you mean if Remoterig can share the Internet connection to the remote site. If there is enough bandwidth its no problem. The ports used by remoterig is fully configurable so there should not be any conflict. Under the codec tab you can see how much bandwitdh Remoterig needs with different codecs.

Hej

Det finns i tankarna, men ledtiderna för sådan här produktion är lång så även om vi skulle införa det nu så skulle det ta 3-4 månader innan burkarna når marknaden.

Hi

1/ Not in the near future, production is order for several month already, but maybe later.

2/ Yes it's possible, 512kbit/s will handle two RRC even with Codec 2.

3/ I not sure what you mean ?

Hi

If the unit reboots when you connect the USB interface, Then you probably have activated the debug mode by setting debug level to > 0, under the advanced settings tab. Thats not allowed it should always be 0

pse try that

Hi

1/Today it's only a mono codec.

2/ The remotrig boxes is transparent to the protocols in use. If you use Elecraft protocol both in radio and in PC it's just transfered as it is.

3/ If you use elecraft there is one RS232 port left which can be used for a PA or rotator

4/ Lot of people working PSK or RTTY with the Remoterig boxes, The Internet via is far better than the radio via so it's no problem.

Hi

Probably there are some differences in the communication protocols. Since there is no protocol documentation available we always need to have the radio in hand to check out the protocols manually. It can be very time consumming so it has to be rigs which are quite common if we should be payed back for the work.
