General discussion forum / Re: SIP link initiation

Yes there is a undocumented way to activate SIP via a input. put the grey strap in place according to the attached drawing. Then you can use the UP-button to connect and disconnect the SIP-session

Today all 3 outpus are keyed in parallell when the CW-keyer is activated. In the future we plan to make it possible to select which one will be keyed. The other will be activated via the web or activated when the SIP connection is up. Then it could be used to switch on the radio when the connection is up.

No if you have not acivated the keyer. They are acting separate from each other.

If you do not use the built in keyer function you can use the 3 inputs/outputs which are transfered between the boxes to whatever you want. Eg in your case reseting the PC. But the WEB-switch 1216E might be more convinient for this kind of controls.

I have tested that several times and the RRC manager works 100% even if the PWR LED is flashing because the network contact is missing.

You have to explain more about your problem. RRC-manager uses the USB connection is independent of DHCP.

General discussion forum / Re: IC-2820 microphone connection
« on: 2010-01-12, 15:50:02 »

It's not possible to use the orginal microphone. Even the PTT signal is send via a serial connection with very strange levels which are not possible to connect to the other serialports. The insterst for IC-2820 has been extremly low before, so i haven't bother to see if it's possible to convert the serial connection to usable levels and transfer it to the radio. But now with increased intrest i will check what can be done.

« on: 2010-01-11, 08:24:20 »

first, it works now! And how it works, great toy!!!
What was the issue? Two Obstacles, first of all, one strapping cable was broken, the one for the
Mic-Audio. After changing the cable i could hear veeery weak audio. I told you i was using the
new ICOM simple Mic HM-154. This Mic is feeding the electret-capsule not with 8V on the MIC-Line,
it uses the 8V on PIN1 of the 8Pole RJ45Plug. So i placed again the strap giving the 8V to pin 1 and
than the audio was fine, even with codec = 0.....
Tomorrow i will go on the local TV-Tower (150m high on hilltop) and will install the radio, the antenna
is already in place ;-)

Yes you can use your existing PC-control via the RRC RS-232  ports in parallell with the Control panel.

The latency when using CW added by the Remoterig system it self is almost nothing, about 1ms.

But the system handling CW, the local built in keyer and sidetone generation and the buffering on the Radio side eliminates the problem with the Internet latency also. Instead you can add a little buffering time to your 20 ms to get a margin against jitter.

No the control and radio box is not the same. I sell extra controlboxes for little bit more than half the price of the pair.

You can use a second serial port for CI-V and use the control panel and your PC-software at the same time, as if they where standing on your desktop. No problem
