Hi

HRD is not the fastest but, check that you use 19200 baud. There will probably not be any support for TRX-manager until the TRX manager developer replace the mscomm32.ocx with something more modern.

We have no other reports about the CW keying problem but we will look if we can make it happen for us also.

The mic adapters are not the same for IC-2820 and 880, there are some small differences. If you are interested to convert them I can inform you about what componets need to be changed.

You do not have to strap it, the small adapter pcb for the mic serial data that you must have include the strapping.

Yes, the modification is done to replace the speaker output with a connection for the power on switch. And the power on switch is needed to initiate the SIP-connection.

Hej

Det finns redan usb-stöd på Control-RRCn, Men du behöver ett RS-232 till CI-V interface från Radio-RRC com2 till CI-V uttaget på radion tex CT-17 då kan du köra HRD samtidigt.

See below

Can my FT-857 be controlled with a separated control panel from one RemoteRig and with CAT control (HRD) from another RemoteRig box or a microRRC at different times? That is a single RemoteRig at the radio end and several RemoteRigs/microRRC's at the control end.

I don't know, you can test it your self. If the FT-857 can be controlled via CAT even if the Control panel is removed it will work. TS-480 work without control panel but most rigs does not.

Can RRC's with hardware modification for FT-857 be used with other radios after the modification? That is does the hardware modification spoil normal operation when later configured for other radios?

No it's just the speaker out via the TTL which is removed, but it's easy to modify it back to orginal, just replace the trace  and 0R resistor with a wire.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Re: K3 Twins - Initial Feedback
« on: 2012-01-28, 13:21:06 »
Ok

When you was talking about dummy loads  I was afraid you have connected someting to the control K3.
Then I think it's just a matter of cabling and settings.

For CW I guess you have selected wrong output, out 2 should be keyer if you use standard cables.

The SIP-connection is controlled by pwr on/off the K3 like for IC-706, but as long as the RRC are connected to the controlling K3 it will setup the SIP connection at pwr on, so what I mean is that the RRC has to be disconnected from 12V if the local K3 should be used separate.

Hi

First don't try to use the local K3 for anything else then controlling the remote, at least until everything is working. Do not use the terminal button, The RRC will take the controlling K3 into the right mode automatically.  The local K3 will never transmit there is no way it could and you do not need any dummys. Of course I asume you have connected the paddles and the microphone to the RRC not to the controlling K3. You must remove power from the RRC if you later want to use the local K3. Start from that and lets see.

The first firmware supporting FT-857 with separated control panel is released and can be downloaded from the firmware page. Im not used to work with the FT-857 myself, but I have made some QSOs today and I think it works very well. Sp pse try. Check the manual about how to interface it.

Yes Marcelo

The Out0 is no connected in parallell so you should not not get that problem.

Hi

Check that the setting "Use USB Com Port as COM0" is = No (on the radio settings page). You can email me the exported settings file also.

Yes you can use USB, for COM1 and COM2 in your case, not COM0 as it is occupied by the IC-706 communication already

I looked into your radio RRC and it looks like you are up and running now ?

Name   Value
Radio   ON
Connection status   OK
SIP status   Connected/transfering
Last SIP error   None
RTP status   Excellent(60)
UDP cmd status   OK(45)

Hi

That's normal COM0 is the serial port used for the communication between the Control panel and the Radio. COM0 can't be used for anything else when using IC-706

Hi

- I do not recieve any audio through my USB headset until I move the audio slider in HRD to something greater than 50 and then back to a more normal level of 25 or so.

That's normal, it's how the design of the TS-480 is done, it's nothing do about it.

I am experiencing frequent timeouts that stop operation while running from my wireless router with 15 Mbps download and 1.5 Mbps upload.  I am currently attempting to turn off all power management routines in my Samsung Series 9 laptop running 64 bit Windows 7.  Any other suggestions?

No if the connection is stable it should never disconnect.

I realize that I am very spoiled with the near perfect operation and no detectable latency of my remoted TS-480 head on my own LAN by using my own 5.8 GHz internet bridge from my tower location 4.14 statute miles away.  I am experiencing about a second of delay with the RRC-Micro.  What settings are recommended for reducing latency?

The latency is depending on the buffer settings, just like in RRC-box + the buffer mutliplier. It can never be  seconds. If the latency is so long it must be something wrong with the PC.

In general you can never expect a PC-solution to be as good as a embedded system which is special designed for the job. The PC-software have to share the resources with all other programs and the OS. That's why I always recommend the boxed system for daily use and the the PC-Client as a complement when travelling etc.
