Until now it has not been possible, But we have put in lot of effort to solve it, and in next firmware version there will be support for FT-857 with remote control panel like the IC-706, TS480 etc.

Yes it should work with ver1 also with the same settings. The only difference is that the 3.5 mm plug is not there so the connection have to be done via the I/O connector (RJ-45).

Hi

The difference in port numbers reported by the status page is not a problem it's just normal, that's depending on how your NAT routers have mapped the ports. It can be different each time or never change it's depending on the routers. Have you checked that SIP ALG is not activated in either router ?. If you email me the info I need to connect to your Radio-RRC I can check from here then we can find out in which end you have the problem.

Hi

They are not meant to change color if set to "connect" mode. You can see the status on the status page.

Yes ID-880 is supported, but remember that you must have the extra mic adapter PCB. Check the Manual to see how the adaption for the ID-880 is done, it's a little bit more complicated than for other radios.

General discussion / Re: Headset for RRC-Micro?
« on: 2012-01-18, 11:19:03 »
Hi

No there is no headset included. You can use a separate  USB headset of good quality it does not have to be connected to the RRC-Micro.

Remember that you can not use a standard stereo cable for Keyer to TS-480 if you also use FSK. The keyer input connector in the TS-480 is not a stereo connector and will ground the FSK signal. You must cut the wire to the middle ring or make a special cable.

General discussion forum / Re: Antenna Tuner Remote?

I do not think there is remote controlled tuners.  But most automatic tunners is OK. I used a LDGPro200 to my TS-480HX and it worked perfect, it does not need any control cable between radio and tuner as it has a built in frequency counter, and it's very fast as it has several thousand memories in which it store the settings for each frequency segment.

Hi

You do not need a Y-cable just connect the PA to com1 at the Radio-RRC. And set Radio-RRC COM1 to mode 7.
The RRC will combine the data to and from the TS-480 in a more clever way then just an Y-cable. The messages will be queued and send in sequence. Be aware about the pin numbering of COM1.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Re: Error 31 while upgrading
« on: 2012-01-10, 18:37:13 »
If you try now, I think the update will work via USB also. I think you had an old firmware in the RRC which had problem with some PC.s but it's fixed from v2.36. Older versions of bootloaders do not report it's version to the setup manager, but it doesn't matter.

OK then it's no problem. The only boring thing is the VFO on the RC-2000.

I still not shure what you mean by "extra" extra from what ? RRC micro uses audio quality 0 = 85 kbit/s is flowing all the time and when tuning the bandwidth need  increase up to the double if you tune very fast.

As far as I know it will work with both if you have the RC-2000 but I have not tested the TS-B2000 but the manual says it can be controlled by the RC-2000. Yes the Remoterig supports the TM-D700 VHF/UHF  mobile, I use it myself.

The strapping is depending on which radio you use not the control, so they are the same.

I don't know what you mean by extra bandwidth, RRC-micro is not using more bandwidth usually less. It's always set to audio quality 0. When connecting with RRC-Micro the audio parameters will be changed temporarily to match, and when disconnecting changed back to the values in the setup.

If you already remote control the TS-480 with the control panel you only need to add the CAT control cable from RRC Com2 to the radio CAT connector. If you start from 0 you need mic/ptt, speaker and CAT connections as described under Kenwood in  general in the manual.'
