General discussion forum / Re: RRC1258 Fails to boot
« on: 2011-12-02, 12:30:08 »
IF the red and yellow stays on the processor never start the main program. Reset the box to Factory default by pressing the Reset button for 30 sec. Connect a serial cable to COM1. Start a terminal program in the PC set to 38400 baud, 8 bit, 1 stopbit, no parity, no handshake. If the bootloader in the box sends some text to the terminal it's possible to upload a new firmware via X-modem. If no text shows you better send the PCB to us.

from RRC v2.48 we have introduced our own Dynamic DNS service. It's described in the manual.

Cables are important some times, even in this wireless world. Good luck

Hi

You must use the pot to disable the sidetone of the IC-706 it's not possible to do from the menu.

I think you have not Enabled the Keyer in the Control-RRC if you do not hear the sidetone from the RRC.

Hi

The sidetone for the Internal CW keyer is generated in the Control-RRC and you should hear it without even switching on the IC-706. If you can't live with the behaviour of the internal keyer without switching on the IC-706 it's not much to do, then you have to use your own keyer. It sounds strange beacuse I have really skilled CW operator friends which have no problem using the internal keyer.

Then when starting to test with the IC-706 remeber to turn down the CW-sidetone with the pot on the side of the IC-706 body. With 80 ms ping time I should set "key delay ms" to 100 ms to start with. Then let somebody else listen to you over the air. You can't listen to the transmission and using the paddles, it's impossible with more than 100 ms delay.

You can use the serial ports for Rotator and loggin, no problem it's just a matter of cables and settings

Yes if jmp3 is in place and you use a straight cable with wies fro pin 2,3,5,7,8 then pin 7 and 8 will be connected together in the RRC.

News / New firmware for RRC-1258all. v2.48
« on: 2011-12-01, 15:46:35 »
A new firmware for the RRC is released v2.48.

-New function: Support for Remoterig dynamic DNS.
-New function: Pwr on/off command  for Yaesu FT-450/950/2000/5000/9000

The pwr on function was developed to take care of PWR on FT-2000 when controlling it from HamRadioDeLuxe but can probably be useful in other situations also.

News / Remoterig FREE Dynamic DNS service
« on: 2011-12-01, 15:41:47 »
Since DynDNS has stopped offering free Dynamic DNS Services we have built our own Remoterig dynamic DNS service. This service is for Remoterig and Microbit products only and is of course free. No registration is needed the function is automatic and based on the serial number of the Equipment. The remoterig ddns client is included from firmware version 2.48. The settings needed to activate the ddns function are described in the Users manual version A17.

The pwr on/off function has nothing to do with the pc client or setup of HRD.
It's sent when SIP ocnnection is up, independent of the control side. It will send the message even if you use box to box solution. You should use radio mode 4 or 10 and enable the function under advanced settings.

The problem with old PC softwares accepting virtual com ports has nothing to to with if RTS/DTR etc.  is used or not, the problem is on a totally different level.

I assume you have coonected pin 7 and 8 and set jmp 3 in place.

Hej

Vi kan inte rekommendera att man gör det, det sätter hela CE märkning på spel, så det får du göra helt på eget bevåg i så fall.

DynDns names mostly does not work at all inside a LAN, and if it works it's difficult to determine how the routing is done in your router. Use IP addressing inside the LAN to be sure.

When using WLAN for VoIP switch of the automatic switching between 802.11 a/b/g etc some access points and routers periodically test the different modes and it will result in a audio dropout during the test.

Hej

Det som går att göra är gjort i  version 1.24 som publicerats idag. Tyvärr så stödjer A/D omvandlaren bara i teorin 16 bitar. Om man studerar manualen så står det också där det interna  noiset i A/D så stort att man inte har någon som helst nytta av 16 bitar. Men som sagt vi har gjort dessa saker programmerbar i alla fall.

News / New firmware v1.24 for the Webswitch released
« on: 2011-11-25, 15:56:30 »
New user requested functions are implemented.

These are the Radio related functions:

- Rather heavily modified analogue rotator support. It’s now possible to select input voltage range either between 0-2.55V or between 0-5.10V(was used before), as well as resolution from 8-15 bits. Note that the A/D’s accuracy is only 8 bits so a higher resolution isn’t necessary better.  10 bits was used in previous versions.

- Added support for Idiom Press rotator controllers.

- Made it possible to activate more than one relay simultaneous when using the automatic antenna switch feature. Also added a 5 minutes time out which will inactive all relays if frequency information stops coming.

Hi

there is a new firmware version with support for Yaesu pwr on/off. The function is activated under the Advanced menu. I hope it will solve your problems.

If you activate the "PTT activated by keyer" the PTT is activated before the "Key delay ms" time so if you set a key delay time you get the function you need plus you use the buffer for keying and get a more robust keying signal. It works in the same way even if you use an external keyer connected to the "straight key" input with the keyer activated.

When switching a serial port to USB you turn off the RS-232 port at the same time. You can not use both USB com2 and RS232 com2 at the same time.
