Akira-san,

Are you using the DynDNS service, or the new one from RemoteRig included in firmware 2.50?

Yes, I agree with Mike, you have problem that may not be related to RemoteRig. I also
suggest keeping an eye on the status page we can move from there when you know more.

Thanks, Chris, I sent him the information this morning, so hopefully he will be QRV soon.

Greetings from Bangkok airport, on the way back to cold Munich.

Send me a mail at dj0qn (at) darc.de and I will send you a simple checklist to get you going.
This is for people that do not have networking experience.

Teemu,

Send me a mail at dj0qn (at) darc.de and I will send you my checklist to help answer most of your questions.

Note that often you can not reach the Dynamic DNS address from within your own network, you should use
the internal IP number. Then remember to change to the Dynamic DNS address in the SIP contact field when
no longer at home.

It is also very important to change the SIP port from 5060 to something else, because most home routers sold
in Europe (also hotels, etc.) have this port already blocked for VoIP applications. Also some mobile providers
block this port.

Hi Teemu,

Glad to hear that it works now. Not sure why the power supplies were not working. Are you sure that
you have JMP2 set correctly (no longer jumpered)?

RemoteRig is a lot of fun, you will enjoy it. I am presently in HS on vacation, but am using the PC Client here.
Enjoy HI8!

Welcome to the club!

I have a hunch.....did you remember to remove JMP2 per the manual (page 154)?. If not, then
the panel is not receiving enough voltage.

If this is configured correctly, then I don't have a clue ;-)

Hi Dave,

I am not sure what you mean by "secure router". I assume this means that you have been able to use
the RRC with the WNCE2001 from another router that is NOT in the same network with your radio RRC?

Assuming this is the case (i.e. you tested it away from home and it works), then the problem is with the 3G
network or phone blocking the ports. If you still have the SIP port as 5060, I highly suggest that you change it
to something else and try again. Otherwise, let us know which cell network you are using (AT&T?), so that
someone with more experience with that network can offer advice.

If you have NOT tested it outside of your radio's network, then it can be one of several things. Before I
provide details, I will wait for your response on the above.

Nicola,

Drop me a mail at dj0qn (at) darc.de and send me details how I can try it out from here. I will use the PC Client with HRD.

Note that I am currently 6 hours ahead of CET (UTC +7).

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Re: CW using the USB port
« on: 2011-12-17, 17:46:59 »
Hi Pete,

The virtual COM ports are installed when you:

1) Install the Microbit Setup Manager (installs the drivers)
2) Then plug a USB cable between the RRC and your PC

You can then use the port by:
1) Check the ports assigned by Windows in your Hardware Manager under the ports
2) Change the port (e.g. COM2) to USB you want to use under the serial settings (use USB to "yes")
3) Tell your software to use that port (Windows port number, not RRC)

The software you use needs to match the way you key your RRC. I use TRX-Manager, and just tell the program to use PTT via CAT. Alternatively, you can use RTS or DTR over USB (change under I/O settings).

Hi Nicola,

Sorry for the delay; I flew to HS for vacation until the end of the year.

I do not see offhand a problem with your setup. I suggest that the guys in Sweden take a look.

If you want, I can try from here to see if I can get it working with my software. My e-mail is dj0qn (at) darc.de
if you want to mail me details directly. I am obviously not at my PC as much as when I am home, but I can try it
some time if you want me to. Wait first to see if Sweden responds to your problem.

Hi Dave,

I see that no one else has answered so far. I flew to HS for some vacation through the end
of the year, but am checking mail on occasion.

Judging by your problem, it looks more like a problem with your 3G network, and not with
RemoteRig. I suggest you find someone with a "normal" 3G router and try it out, maybe
with the same or a different network provider. In Germany, they rarely work with RemoteRig,
since they try to block the VoIP ports. For sure, never not use port 5060 for SIP, since this may
an issue.

Strange....if the WNCE2001 works with a PC over the iPhone, just plugging it into the RRC
should allow it to work as well.

Did you check the status to see if it received an IP number ok? I would double check to
make sure that it is indeed connected to the network.

I also assume that the RRC works fine when connected to a "normal" wired or wireless network.
I was assuming that you already have it working and tested. If so, then maybe someone with
more experience with the iPhone has an idea.

Hi Nicola,

Offhand I don't see anything wrong. I would say that the guys in Sweden should take a look at
this tomorrow and let you know. I suspect there is a problem with your Netbook/Windows, but
it is really hard to say. They can for sure help you out.

Dave,

Do you have the RRC set to DHCP? It would need to pull an IP number off of the iPhone's DHCP server.
I have never used this feature on an iPhone, but this should be the way it works.
