Too bad, Marcel, since I know they had two in stock a couple of months ago.

Kenwood still sells them, but probably the volume is too low for some dealers
or countries to carry them. In that case, your best bet is to buy from the U.S.
from any major dealer, such as HRO:

General discussion forum / Firmware 2.35?
« on: 2011-03-21, 13:31:32 »
The RRC-PC Client 1.14 has been out a couple of weeks, and in the description ist says:

"– JitterSize and JitterDelay are now sent in SIP/SDP header. ( need v2.35 of RRC)"

When will 2.35 become available?

General discussion forum / Re: Yaesu Twin Question
« on: 2011-03-20, 20:04:19 »
Hi Mike,

Thanks for the quick (Sunday) reply!

I basically want to the radio RRC's CAT not only to the FT-2000,
but I need to pass the FT-2000 CAT back to a PC for the SteppIR,
linear and for a local logging program. This is exactly what I do now
with the TS-480, looping back to the PC at the radio RRC, as well
as making CAT available on COM2 on the control RRC.

I hope I explained it ok.

About the price; I understand you need to recoup your development
costs, it is just a bit of what Americans call "sticker shock". I will
think about it, but of course I appreciate the honest explanation.

If I understand what you are asking, it is exactly the same as
I requested earlier:

Or did I misunderstand?

General discussion forum / Yaesu Twin Question
« on: 2011-03-20, 17:40:46 »
Mike,

I am interested in the Yaesu Twin for my FT-2000. I have an offer for another
FT-2000 that I am considering for the control.

My question is: does the CAT have to go only to COM2 as in the instructions,
or can I also put it to COM1 and loop it through COM2 as on the other RRC's?
I would need this loop-through capability to prevent breaking my present set-up.

Dumb (bonus) question: why is the Yaesu Twin so expensive? The cables can't make the
difference. Appears to be the same hardware to the other RRC, probably with a
different firmware (but no updates are showing on the download page yet). I assume
this is a marketing driven price, but it seems very high. I don't expect an answer on
this question, just wanted to get it off my chest!

Marcel,

I know that Difona had a couple in stock recently, you can check with them:

http://difona.de/index.php

I would send a mail, since this may not be a listed item on their web page.

Jim,

That is really nice of you, but shipping two of these 30 KG+ rigs from W6
to Sweden and back will cost you a small fortune! Not to mention the
insurance for the $11k value of each rig.

Maybe someone in Sweden can help Mike out instead?

I have found this adapter to be 100% reliable. I am not sure what kind of problem
you have had with it.

It is necessary to put a DB9 bridge on the external antenna switch, otherwise
the adapter will not work reliably. Maybe you didn't make this bridge and that's
why you experienced your problem?

Yes, I have no problem browsing the RRC.

Note that I have three other devices on the same LAN that are
updating DynDNS using different host names, but the same account.

My DynDNS also stopped working with 2.33, but my error code is 8.

I have an account with DynDNS and have several names that work
just fine every day. User name and password are good, and I never
made any kind of change, it just stopped working.

Hi Ziv,

I personally have never been able to get RemoteRig to work on
any 3G network in Germany. I suspect they somehow block SIP, even
with a non-standard port. VoIP is not allowed here on these networks,
so they must have put some extra effort in to block it. This may also
be your problem.

Configuration of Routers, Firewalls, etc / SIP ALG
« on: 2011-03-04, 11:56:10 »
Jan,

I see a lot of warnings to have SIP ALG turned off in the router. I have
never read what the effect is when it is turned on. Could you please tell
me what problem it causes?

I am asking, because I am trying to debug an installation where I do not
have direct router access. I don't want to request a change unless it is
necessary. The problem is audio breaking-up at irregular intervals, even
though the line is very fast. Maybe SIP ALG is the problem.

Thanks & 73,

The program says that every single serial port from 1 through 59 is in use,
except for 55! It says it successfully reclaimed 55, which is higher than the
port PC Client uses now. It also has no effect on PC Client.

When I look at Device Manager, it shows 8 ports in use.

This is really strange!

I can try the registry key you gave me when I have time for
a reboot.

Thanks & 73,
