Or buy a small hardware bridge, such as:

Jan,

This program does not appear to do anything under XP. Do you know
otherwise of any way to change the COM port number of the virtual
ports of the PC Client? I also can't find the registry entry that is
mentioned. The driver also does not allow the port number to be
changed as usual.

My XP put my ports at a number over 30, which TRX-manager can not
address. HRD works just fine with these ports, but that is not my
standard software.

Thanks & 73,

I am not sure if Acom will sell this directly. If you don't get an answer
from Acom or your dealer, you can always order from Difona in Germany
http://difona.de/index.php

At least three of us have successfully ordered these adapters from
Difona, so they understand what it is you want. Note that these are
NOT stock items, so delivery may be delayed a few weeks.

Note that when you get the adapter, you need to bridge the DB9
connector for the external antenna switch if you do not have that
switch. E-mail me for details once you receive the switch if you need
any help. It is simple, but it won't work without one or the other on
this socket.

Hi Mark,

Seems to me that it would be cheaper and easier just to buy the
original Acom remote control solution ;-)

Hi Marcel,

I see that no one has answered you till now. I have spent the last few weeks
in the hospital, so I am behind answering my mails and forum postings.

The solution is to buy a small adapter, I think it is called "remote power-on relay",
from your Acom dealer. Acom will know what it is when they are asked, since your
dealer probably doesn't know. It costs around 100 Euro, and will allow full on and
off of the 2000a. You need to leave the main power switch on, but all that does is
to provide power to the RCU.

I am trying to attach a photo, but I am not sure if it will work.

Hi Robert,

No problem, you will find instructions how to do so in the manual on
pages 61 & 62.

Robert,

That doesn't make sense.....the router would not assign IP numbers unless
the boxes were changed to DHCP. I am not sure what you think you are
seeing DHCP if was not changed.

If you didn't change them to DHCP yet, please do so now using the Setup
Manager and the USB cable. Then check the router for the assigned IP
numbers and connect like George said using the one assigned.

Mike, I believe the boxes should factory default to DHCP, since this seems
to cause a lot of problems for people that are not familiar with networks.

I just received a Lantronix UDS2100 (dual serial port) for a new remote location:
http://www.lantronix.com/device-networking/external-device-servers/uds2100.html

I ordered it from the U.S., since it does not appear to be available in Europe yet. Often
you can find an older device for sale on Ebay, but there seems to be a gap at present
in this part of the world.

I haven't installed it yet, we are waiting for Spring to complete antenna work and make
the installation.

Kai,

Did you change your SIP port number on both ends? Port 5060 is usually blocked on UMTS.

I have tested both O2 and Telekom (T-Mobile), and both do not work with RemoteRig.
They seem to block the audio, even after changing the port number.

P.S.: We can speak by phone if you have any questions

Thanks again for fixing this, Mike. Mode B now works the way I am
used to.

For everyone else to test (before upgrading), just send "CQ DE" in mode B.
If like me, you will send "CQ DI" most of the time. You kind of get used to
letting go quicker to send the E instead of the I, but that was a painful
work-around. I am happy that we were able to resolve this problem with
excellent teamwork.

I suggest first that you use the USB cable and the Setup Manager. You can see if your
RRC is still "alive", update the firmware and check what the real IP number is. It also will
start your browser and go to the correct address if you want.

I also suggest that set the RRC to DHCP to pull an IP address from your network, assuming
your network is done that way. If you want a fixed IP number, it is more reliable to put the
MAC address in your router's NAT settings for fixed IP, since at least then your router will
know about it and you can easier do port forwards or place it into the DMZ.

If the RRC is set to DHCP, it will pick this address up from the router and will NOT
display this in setup window under the Setup Manager. It will ALWAYS display the
fixed IP number that was entered there before.

To get the current IP number, click on the Net Info tab and then call it up.

« on: 2011-01-12, 22:30:34 »
Hi Andy,

Each device needs to be addressed using a different port. For example,
the PC with hb9gce.dyndns.org:1234 and the RemoteRig with
hb9gce.dyndns.org:5678. You need to enter these in your router
accordingly to point to the correct internal IP number, e.g. port 1234 to
192.168.1.10, port 5678 to 192.168.1.11, etc. This way, an unlimited
number of devices can be addressed using the single external IP address.

You actually should always change the RemoteRig to a different port number,
because your router likely already uses port 80.

I hope this helps.
