Hi All.

Been happily using 1258-MKII for several years with TS-480.  Remote end is on LTE and 400 KM away.  Have latest firmware etc.

Yesterday couldn't turn on the radio.  Investigated today and local unit wasn't on my network.  Ran the setup program and discovered that it had lost it's static IP address.  Many attempts to set the IP address failed.  Sometimes would show address again in setup but couldn't browse to the unit.  Changed from static to DHCP, after reboot unit shows it has an address issued but still couldn't browse.  Updated firmware (just to 2.95 again).  Could then browse to unit after DHCP issued.  Set to my preferred static address, reboot and can now browse to the static address.

Looking in the other setup tabs the unit has totally lost all it's configs  >:(  So I start to tell it that it's plugged into a TS-480 etc, etc.  But when I get to the Keyer Settings, IO settings, or ping settings I have a page that says "No settings available for this device"!  I then release that the local unit is giving menu items as if it's the radio unit, so I can't set an IP for the remote radio end,"Auto connect" etc.  It does say on the header of the webpage that it is the "Control" unit.  I just can't see any of the control unit tabs.

Help please!

Get VirtualHere.  https://www.virtualhere.com/  It's what I use for a SDR RTL, SDR Softrock and rotator control.

Is there a way to external switch the PTT in the android app with an On The Go cable?

Thanks.

When I went down the remote rig path I decided I needed a TS-480.  I found a used HTX which has no tuner but the sale came with the AT200Pro, which is the 200 watt model.  Neat fix.  I normally hang resonate antennas for each band and haven't really need a tuner.  Now that my "rig" is over 350 km away it's nice to have the tuner until I get my antennas sorted out.

It has worked without a hitch.  As Lou said I press the PF button and it tunes in a few seconds.  Good kit.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Help understanding I/O
« on: 2018-12-11, 09:30:40 »
Hi Guys.

I'd like a clear understanding on the use of the I/O settings please?

My goal is control 3 remote relays with 3 local switches,  Is this possible?  How do I wire them?  Does IN0 = OUT0, IN1 = OUT1 etc?  Do I use I/O or connect?

Or can I only control 2 remote relays with switches, and one remote relay with ON/OFF web page?

Thanks.

Try a small computer like a Raspberry Pi at the remote site and install "VirtualHere" https://www.virtualhere.com/

Very easy to set up.  It will make available any remote USB device as if it is plugged in to your local PC.
