CONNECTION WITH ETHERNET FAILS TO CONNECT
« on: 2011-12-27, 19:09:52 »
HI,
I BOUGHT THE RRC-1258MKIIS FROM HRO BUT I CANNOT CONNECT WITH THE SERVER OF CONTROL UNIT.
MY EXPLORER SEARCHES FOR IP 192.168.1.227  AND AFTER SOME TIME GET ERROR THAT PAGE NOT FOUND.
I DID ALL THE UPDATES S.V. 2.50 THROUGH USB ON BOTH UNITS BUT THIS ONE HAS THE CONNECTION PROBLEM.
IF I DISCONECT AND CONNECT THE POWER PLUG SEVERAL TIMES THEN I MAY CONNECT AND SEE THE MENU. BUT IF I CHANGE ANY PARAMETER AND REBOOT UNIT IT MAY NOT CONNECT AGAIN.

if you can connect sometimes but not always you have probably some problem with your network, for example something else with the same ip adress. Try with fixed IPs in both pc and RRC and a direct cable to verify.

I TRIED AND CHANGED THE RRC IP TO DIFFERENT ADDRESS ENDING 140 OR 126 etc BUT NO IMPROVEMENT.
HOW CAN I CONNECT DIRECTLY MY NETBOOK AND RRC? CAN I USE THE SAME CABLE I USE WITH THE SWITCH?
AND WHAT FIXED IP'S SHOULD I USE?
BY THE WAY AT THE MOMENT THE REMOTE OF IC-706 WITH RRC'S WORKS BUT IF THERE IS ANY POWER FAILURE THEN THE CONTROL RRC MAY NOT CONNECT AGN TILL I TRY AGN TAKING OFF & ON POWER PLUG

Send me a mail at dj0qn (at) darc.de and I will send you a simple checklist to get you going.
This is for people that do not have networking experience.

It's looks like you using at your home network a different IP address like 192.168.0.x and RRC comes with 192.168.1.

Try: disconnect your Router from PC. Only a LAN cable between RRC and your PC
Go to Network settings at your PC, switch off DHCP and set yout PC to a 192.168.1.xx (fixed) address, then Power ON  RRC, start Browser and open 192.168.1.227
Chance RRC TCP/IP address to and of your Router addresses area - not forget to store and Apply at RRC
Then switch back your PC to DHCP and reconnect to your Router. Try again your RRC

By the way DJ0QN is the "holly father" of RRC (at user side)  ;) - maybe he can help

I want to thank U Mitch for your kind help with networks.
Now all ok and ethernet connection is stable.
I didnt have much time to check all system as I was in bed with a heavy cought.
My tnx also to Chris.

I face anothe issue that maybe you aware.
While listening some times line drops the display shut down as voice also.
the yellow led of AUX/MIC (sip connection),remains on and if I press the on/off of IC-705 once, then led turns off.
If I press again the on/off the connection comes up again.
Any idea?

If you go to the status page in the control RRC you may see what fails. But probably you loosing internet connection. The RED LED will light up after about 5 secs. And if the the connection is not back within 60 secs you have to manually connect again by pressing the on/off button as you have found out

Yes, I agree with Mike, you have problem that may not be related to RemoteRig. I also
suggest keeping an eye on the status page we can move from there when you know more.

OK GUYS. IT SEEMS THAT STATUS PAGE WILL HELP WITH CONNECTION ISSUES.
NOW THE SYSTEM REMAINS ON ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN I TRY TO TURN ON THE IC-706 NEXT DAY SIP CONNECTION IS OK BUT NO DISPLAY AND VOICE.
I CHECKED STATUS PAGE AND FOUND PROBLEM WITH UDP cmd STATUS.
ALL OTHER WAS OK. SHIP WAS CONNECTED .
RED LIGHT WAS OFF ON MY UNIT & YELLOW ON.
I LEFT IT SO AND AFTER LONG TIME IT WORKED BY ITS SELF.
I FACED THIS ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU GUYS AND THANKS FOR YOUR KIND SUPPORT
