Transparent Serial Channel on 1258 MKII

(1/1)

mtnik:
I am setting up a remote control for an AOR AR8600 Communications Receiver for our Ham Shack by using two remoterig RRC-1258 MKII. Both control and Radio units have firmware 2.5 installed. Their Serial numbers are 4073 and 4058, respectively. The radio is feeding audio through the network to the speakers attached to the control unit.  I am able to control the AOR via a Hyperterminal, but can not receive data back from the radio.
I have used Program mode 11 on both units, and have used Program Mode 0 on the Radio unit and mode 11 on the control unit with the same results.  I am using Com2, Mode 3 on both ends with the Com0 (USB) and Com1 inactive.  When I connect the serial cable from the computer straight through to the AOR, I am able to control the radio and receive data back from it, but when I sever that link and attach serial cable to COM2 on both remoterig 1258-MKII units, with everything else the same, I can not receieve data back from the radio.  I am not looking for anything fancy, I simply need Transparent RS-232 Control and Response, and audio return.

Hi

set radio mode to 3
and try with com2 mode = mode 3. If it doesn't work set com2 mode = mode 1
