Problem updating Firmware
« on: 2013-12-05, 01:14:35 »
I am having a problem updating the firmware on an RRC-1258MKII Radio -- I have reset the unit several times and used more than one computer and cord all which will try to update the firmware and then give a "Write Failed:-1 or -2" error -- The firmware installed is 2.33 and this is the first attempt to use the unit --
Any Assistance Appreciated,
Dave - K9UK

The general advice in such situations is to update via the built-in homepage instead as there have been USB issues on older RRC firmware versions using certain computers.
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

But note that the RRC will no longer be in DHCP mode, so you will need to manually
configure a PC to use the same subnet 192.168.0.X and access the RRC through
192.168.0.227 or 228. Use either a crossover ethernet cable, or both need to
connected to a switch.

Thanks for the information -
I was able to update the firmware by connecting the computer and 1258 using a switch --
All good - 73,

Great!
If possible you could try to "update" the new version you now have once again, but by USB this time. It would be valuable to know if the USB issues are gone now that you have the 2.75 version(I assume that's the one you used?) installed.
