rotor to com1???
« on: 2015-12-04, 23:18:06 »
My setup: TS-480 with control head plugged into RRC-control, RRC-remote is attached to body of radio. I have a PC attached via USB for winkey and also via com 2 mode 4 for PC control of radio cat (via Logic9 running on windows 10). I want to attach com1 to my green herron and run that from either logic or the green herron ap.

How do I set com 1 in control and radio RRC and what cable???

Logic control of cat is running perfectly

logic built in winkey app is not so good. It sends first three letters in string then starts over and leaves last three letters of string off so I am using the demo from winkey till I find a better way.

Thanks for your help with com1

Jan, Mike, any thoughts on this? Is it possible to control a rotor from the com1 of rrc-1258?

I have tried a straight through cable with every setting under the "serial" tab with and without flow control with no luck....

Thank you

Ray

Im pretty sure you cannot use a straight cable at the radioside, check the manual for pinning and compare with the rotator. If the rotator connector is designed to be connected with a straight cable to a PC pin 2 and 3 should be crossed when connected to Radio-RRC com1. Use mode 1 and when it works you can try mode 3 to save some bandwidth. No flowcontrol

thank you. I was just unplugging the cable from a PC and plugging it in radio side com1. I will try a crossed cable tonight.

thanks for the input.

a crossover cable and mode 3 works like a charm.

once again, thank you for excellent customer service.
