RRC Web server port is not responding reliably
« on: 2016-02-23, 03:39:43 »
I've noticed that this problem has been getting worse as times goes by.  I am trying to access the web server port and it seems to "hang up" as the page is loading.  Sometimes I only get the left hand column, sometimes nothing happens.  This is happening on 4 RRC1258 units, both Control and Radio units, on local LAN IP and remote IP.  Occasionally the F5 key will reload the page and clear the problem.  All are running firmware V2.87

Any ideas?  Anyone having the same problem?  I saw some posts about this last year and wonder if it is still happening to people.

Do the RRCs work ok with regards to audio streaming and radio control? Do you see the same behaviour if you use another computer and/or browser?
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

I have tried several computers and used IE, Firefox and Chrome.  They all seem to fail or take a long time to respond.

Audio streaming and radio control are working OK.

Which OS and version on the computers?

Both my desktop and laptop are running Win7 Professional, SP 1, 64 bit.  They have the problem.

I tried my wife's older computer that has Win Vista Home Basic, SP2, 32 bit and it works without a problem.  It seems to be related to the OS on my computers.

I have seen similar posts in the past referring to this problem.  I wonder what OS they are running?

Yes, that problem is not new, but to my knowledge yours are the first Win 7 computers, as they were running Win 8. We were able to debug it and found out that the computer was kind of "impatient".  When requesting the web pages it often sent a "TCP reset" shortly after the request but before the RRC even had had the time to respond. It also affected other networked devices like routers etc, all having that in common that their resources are much more limited than for ex a web server computer.

You could try resetting the TCP/IP like this:

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/reset-tcp-ip-internet-protocol

(But be warned that it might cause other problems ;) )
