Problem with Alinco DX-SR8E
« on: 2010-11-21, 04:07:05 »
Hi,

does anybody use the Alinco DX-SR8E with the remoterig system.
I have difficulty with remote the radio. It looks like the radio lockup.
The detached Display Head lights up with all functions but it's not possible to use it, it look like it frozen.
Try to disconnect 12 V power at the radio side to kind of reset it, it work, but only once. Since then same problem.

I see that no answers were posted for this question.  I have the same problem.  Any suggestions?

Hi

The Alinco locks up sometimes nothing that you or me can do anything about. I recommend you to change to a used TS-480 to get a rig which never fails

Thank you for the information, Mike.  I will not waste any more time on it.  I was setting it up for a friend who is now in assisted living.  He is using my 706 right now, but the 480 would be much easier for him to read. He has a Kenwood TM-G707 for V/UHF, so he only needs HF.

Hi

I have been operating two ALINCO DX-SR8E remote stations for more than five years and they never locked up!
I like the simplicity of the setup with just one patch cable between the detachable front and the RR-Control-Box and a second patch cable between the RR-Radio-Box and the "rear" of the TRX.
