I currently have the 2-box Remoterig system connected in Mode 5 to a Kenwood TS-480.  If I add the PC-Client hardware/software, can I leave the Remoterig Radio Unit in Mode 5 and operate with the TS-480 Remote Head at my home and the PC-Client on my laptop from other locations without reconfiguring everything?

I realize that I can download the PC-Client software from the website.  What are my options for purchasing the hardware?

Just make sure that you leave your head turned off when you leave
and the RRC setting "auto connect" to "no", and you will be fine.

Just go into the box (control side) and go to "Radio Settings". Then
make sure that "Auto connect" is set to no.

That's all there is to it, except making sure that your remote head is off.

I have played around and been able to get control using the PC Client,
even when the head was connected, but I would not recommend this.

Not sure if this can be problem Mitch, if you use the original kenwood soft it works also perfect
maybe you can have some timing problems if you use a different network provider (GSM + internet)

Hi Guy,

I am not sure what you mean, the question was only the best
way to switch between the remote head and PC Client. There
is no other software involved, and the network is not an issue.

Hi Guy,

Yes, I have also managed to have both working at the same time, but
that is not the way it is supposed to work. I assume that this "feature"
may be fixed in a future firmware release or of the PC Client.

Better to do it right! ;-)
