"Error, failed to resolve remoterig.com"
« on: 2018-07-07, 20:22:54 »
I've been running this setup (TS-480SAT and a pair of RRCs) successfully for a couple of years now.  I tried to power on the TS-480 yesterday and got the dreaded 3 tones.  I can connect to the web pages for both RRCs.  On the control RRC Status page, the "DNS status" shows "OK", along with the correct host name and IP address.  The radio RRC Status page on the other hand either shows "Error, failed to resolve remoterig.com" or "Querying status".  The "Dynamic DNS status" shows "Unknown".  Clicking on the "Dynamic DNS status" link brings up a new web page that shows:

Own IP: 0.0.0.0
DDNS IP: 0.0.0.0
CHK IP: 0.0.0.0
Last reply:

Also on the radio RRC Status page, "Other party" shows 0.0.0.0

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Chris,

What doesn't make any sense is that you can reach the radio RRC's web page, so obviously the DDNS address is correct.
Or how are you doing that? The control RRC's SIP contact should therefore reach the radio RRC in that stage.

Did you try rebooting the radio RRC?

probably the dns ip is set wrong, you can try to use 8.8.8.8 ( google DNS)

Mitch:  I should have been more clear.  I use TeamViewer to remote desktop into the PC at my remote site.  From there I can reach the radio RRC's web page.

Mike:  I assume you mean the DNS Server value in the router at the remote site?

As Mike suggested, I changed the DNS Server settings to 8.8.8.8 under the IP Setting on the radio RRC (not the router at the remote site) and it's working again now.

Thanks!
