SteppIR SDA-100 Yaesu Twins
« on: 2011-04-09, 22:58:35 »
I have successfully connected the SDA100 using the RRC Yaesu Twins through a "Y" cable.  However, it requires two NULL MODEMS in line between the Yaesu (DB9) and the data line to the RRC.  The data line to the SDA100 is straight through.
Has anyone else tried this?

We are now testing the new RC1216H with the Yaesu Twins (9000 to 9000) and the SDA100.  We have redone the "Y" cable to eliminate the need for the two NULL (DB9) connectors.  There is a modification to the SteppIR "Y" cable that will fix this.  So far the RC1216H is working great and the software is completely monitoring and controlling a MonstIR at 45 meters across a T1 network.

SDA100
We have noticed that you need a later version of the SDA100 and transceiver interface to communicate to the RC1216H.  When you turn on the SDA100 notice on the lower right of the display, you should see "99", if not the RC1216H will not communicate with the SDA100.
