RRC-Micro with HRD and FT-897
« on: 2011-09-22, 23:09:40 »
Hello,

Trying to get the combination RRC-Micro, HRD and FT-897 to work.

I have audio and I can transmit using the PTT button on the RRC-Micro "dongle". No problem. But I can't reach the FT-897 with HRD. Please see the attached pictures for my settings.
I'm using the CT-62 cable between FT-897 and COM2 on the RRC-1258 box. The FT-897 is "tuned" to 9600bps under menu 19, and meny 20 says "CAT".

What am I doing wrong?

Best Regards,

Adde

You need to define settings for COM2

Hi Roland, and thanks for the answer.

I have tried this also, but it does not work. I read in the FT-897 manual that the CAT interface uses 2 stop bits. I have tried both 1 and 2 stop bits, but still get the msg that HRD is unable to connect and read the frq.

(The CT-62 cable works fine when I connect it directly between FT-897 and computer)

Any other suggestions?

Did you set 2 stopbits at COm3 stop bits also?

Oooops! Of course not. COM2 is the correct one. Sorry

Hello again,

I'm using (or have tried using) 2 stop bits in all the places I can find :)

I can open the firewall so you can try to connect yourself. I will PM you the login info as soon as I'm done.

Adde,

Just to be on the safe side....make sure you have a real serial cable between the FT-897 and COM2 of the RRC.
Once you configure COM2 on the RRC, it should then work correctly.

Hi Mitch,
Thanks for the input. I'm using a CT-62 original cable... And it works just fine when I connect it directly between the FT-897 and a PC.

***SOLVED!*** Re: RRC-Micro with HRD and FT-897

Problem solved! Under the serial settings tab, mode-3 shall be used, not mode-4 "Yaesu". Mode-3 does not say FT-8x7 like in other menues. But this will be corrected in coming FW releases ;)

Thanks Roland and Mike for a nice meeting earlier today! :)
