Title: Verizon FOIS G1100 Router; setting SIP ALG
Post by: K1HC on 2016-04-07, 16:22:51
Hello- Has anyone had to change the default SIP ALG setting on their Verizon FIOS router in order to turn off SIP ALG to get the RRC units working?  I scanned the 212-page user manual and Googled the issue.  A couple of sites said that the default has SIP ALG on and that it could not be changed by the user.  It was also stated that it was unknown whether Verizon could change that setting remotely.  The recommended solution was to use a different router.  Anyone  have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dick, K1HC

Have you checked if the router has a telnet interface? It might not be documented. If so, check whether you can disable SIP ALG through telnet.

Thank you, Gus.  I will explore that possibility.
