Title: Accessing Radio RRC via Verizon ZTE Jetpack 890L
Post by: WA7HJV on 2014-01-05, 20:48:24
Greetings,

I have been accessing my Radio RRC with my Control RRC from various Motels and assorted Routers. Some of the upload speeds at the Motels become too slow under heavy use to perform satisfactory. So yesterday I purchased a Verizon Hotspot (Jetpack 890L) which has a good solid 5 MB down and 4 MB up. It works great for everything but RemoteRig. I have used my Sprint Cell Phone as a hotspot before with no issues but this standalone 890L hotspot appears to block some of the required ports.  I called Verizon and talked to their Level 2 techs about this but they are pretty much clueless when it comes to anything to do with ports.
Has anyone had any experience with this hotspot?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank You,

Hello,

What does the RRC's status page say when you attempt to connect? Which ports are you using?

Hello Jan,

Thank you for the reply. I resolved the issue yesterday. I was still using 5060 for SIP and as soon as I changed it to 5070 it fired right up.
Somehow I had missed that bit of info that has been going around for some time.
The Verizon Hotspot is working GREAT. Currently operating from a motel in Texas and transmitting from home QTH in Oregon. I even took the RR mobile. The 4G is solid in this area so it was not a problem at all.

73 and thank you for the great product!
