Title: TS-480 Voice Keyer Question
Post by: AD8J on 2015-04-01, 03:24:00
I am operating my TS-480 in the normal RRC configuration of having the control head at the control location and the radio at the remote site.  I want to add a voice keyer and am trying to decide between the Kenwood VGS-1 board, installed in the radio, or a stand alone voice keyer at the control location.  I am interested in hearing from anyone that has done either.  Specifically, has anyone had a problem using the VGS-1 remotely?

The VGS-1 works just fine.

I have ordered a VGS-1 and will make another entry after I give it a try.

I haven't done any digital work yet but I'll keep in mind the voice keyer memories.  The VGS-1 was easy to install and does work fine.  I haven't given it a good workout in a contest but I have worked a few SSB DX stations where I didn't do anything but push a button for my call then another one to send a recorded report
