Title: Troubleshooting ptt hardware
Post by: w0ql on 2014-06-24, 15:27:08
I would to know of a way to confirm the ptt hardware is working or not.  I have a set of 1258 RemoteRigs and I can receive just fine.  I am using a Kenwood TS480.  When I key the control head with a microphone the system stays in receive mode and ignores the fact that I have pushed the ptt button on the microphone.   When I set the jumpers originally I was confused by the instructions and connected them incorrectly.   Now I believe they are correct but transmitting does not work.  I would like a process to put a voltmeter on specific pins when I key the mic to determine if I have damaged the RemoteRig or not.
Thank you,

Probably one of the red straps which is broken or missplaced. If RX audio is still present when you press PTT the problem is in the control-RRC if the audio is muted it's in the Radio-RRC.

On the status pages you can see the PTT status, but remember you must refresch the page (F5) manually after you press and release the PTT
