Hardware, Cabling, Installations / Re: RR 1216H & ACOM 2000A
« on: 2015-04-04, 00:31:28 »
The RRC-1216H just does not work withmy ACOM 2000A.  I am using just a 3-wire null-modem cable and have both the PWR and Aux switches connected properly.  The On/Off virtual "switch" allows the ACOM to power up but will not go from standby to operate, or power off.  This is after many hours of testing.  I assume that there is no serial port set-up needed using the MicroBit Setup Manager.

Can anyone provide a proper schematic of the 1216H or correct technical information other than "it works everywhere".

Thanks,

Thanks Jim, yes, that is the case.  I will rectify.

Configuration, Webswitch 1216H / RC 1216H DDNS access
« on: 2015-03-09, 16:51:29 »
Hello,
When I try to remotely access my 1216H with its DDNS host name http://"NAME".ddns.webswitch.se/ it returns my RRC-1258 information as if I used the remote radio's remoterig host name  http://"NAME".ddns.remoterig.com/.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Thanks Mike, yes pins 5 & 9 are connected and I have tried 2 different "null-modem" cables.  I will make up a new null-modem" cable myself and try that when I get back to the remote site.  Are there any other controller/amplifier addresses that I should try?

Thanks,

Hello All,
I may have posted this in the wrong section Saturday.  I am trying the get the RR 1216H working with my ACOM 2000A for the first time.  I can turn on/off the mains, turn the amp on but not off without turning off the mains, see that it is in Standby, and the upper right "LED" on the webpage is solid green.  I cannot go from standby to operate or from operate to standby.  However, I can see on the Web I/F that the Standby indicator is yellow.  The Web I/F monitors my RCU settings perfectly if I am using the RCU instead of the Web page and I can fully operate the amp locally.  The Web I/F does not return “Readings”.  I am using a null-modem cable.  Here is some additional information:
Product   RC-1216H
Software   4.12
Hardware   2
Bootloader   1.10
Build   Nov 19 2014 11:14:21
S/N   2633.
Any ideas out there?

Thanks,

I can now turn on the amp remotely but not off.  I can also see on the web i/f that the Standby indicator is yellow but does not go to green.  Here is some additional information:

Again, many thanks Mitch you fully answered my question.  I will experiment next weekend since CQWW is this weekend.

Thanks for your continuous help to the group.

Thanks a bunch Mitch.  Another quick question if COM1 is set to Mode 7 on the remote end and the COM1 and has the null modem cable attached to the rotor controller can I unplug  Cat at the control site and address the rotor controller then reconnect CAT at least temporarily?

Thanks for the hints about Lantronix, I will look into it; yes two RC 1216s get a bit expensive.

Thanks,

Hello,

I am a new user and have CW/Phone working great - amazing.

Am I correct in assuming that if I want to use a PC logging program like N1MM at my control site I can do so simultaneously with rotor control since they both use COM1 at the control site but COM1 at the remote site would just be attached to the rotor control box with a null-modem cable?  If not, is there a way I can achieve this without purchasing an additional RC-1216H (will use one already for ACOM-2000)?

Thanks,
