Hi - I have an IC706 that I annot get to turn on. The cable tests OK with intalled with the joiner. I can turn the radio on and off and change frq etx, rx, etc
I have both RRC units behind the ruter for testing. I have configured as per manual. Com1 is CIV. When I plud control head and base unit it I get yellow LED on RRC, no red LED, green power light steady. I can browse both RRS, (radio is 192.68.1.228:8000 (also tried without the 8000.
PROBLEM- I can turn the radio on at all. Also tried with 703- same problem.
HELP I am getting quie frustrated!

When using ic 703 and 706 with separated Control panel you should follow the the instructions for them, NOT icom in general.
You should configure the RRC for radio mode "2 -IC-706" see page 81 in the users manual.
COM 1 should not be activated. It should only be activated when using it for rotator etc.

Thaks, I have turned off Comm1. When I cycle power to RRC's I get red LED on AUX/MIC (breifly), flashig green LED, then Solid green LED, then nothing - no amber LED.
SIP staus is IDLE, Radio is OFF.
Any more suggestions?

Hi
Nothing more should happen before you press the power on button on the Control panel. When pushing power on the yellow led should turn on and everything should start up the same way as when the control panel is directly connected to the radio

Is it possible here is a hardware fault on the RRC?
Should I go back to the previous firmware version?
Can think of much else to do - surely it would work on a LAn without being connected to internet?

Should I have a connect button on my Control status age lke the one on page 30 of the manual?
-
I had the same problem with my 706. check the baud rate on com0 i set it according to manual, and things were fixed.
-
No
With IC-706 and separated front, the pwr on button on the IC-706 front is used for connect/disconnect.
Send me printscreens of your settings if you still can't get it working
