I am concidering to by another Kenwood TS-590s, which means i will have one TS-590S at the radio end and one at the control end.
I do have the two boxes, RRC-1258 MkII.
I do also have the cables for running remotely ONE TS-590S.
The question is: can i use the same cables to run TS-590S in the TWIN solution??
The cables i have are called:
1258-K12A13A 75. Kenwood mic adapter cables
1258-CAT-2m 77. CAT cable 2m PC to RRC
1258-CAT-YK 79. Kenwood, Yaesu CAT cable K15c, Y6c. Radio RRC to Kenwood/Yaesu

Yes the only cable you do not have is the one from the Control-590 CAT-port to the Control-RRC com2

you need to change programmode to 18. Nothing else if you have set the same baudrate in the new radio as you had in the other one

Ok on that, thank you.
Cables are ordered from your webshop.
At the control end, i would like to read SWR etc through HamRadioDeluxe. I suppose i have to connect RRC control unit to my computer through the COM2 port on the RRC and then the COM1 port to the radio at the control end.
But, my computer does not have a RS232 COM port, only lots of USB ports.
Do you have any suggestions of the best RS232/USB cable to use???
Or can i use anyone at the nearest Kjell&co store?? with male RS232 to USB???
-
If you are looking for troubles buy a cheap RS232-USB cable with a Prolific chip set inside. Otherwise pay a little more and get a cable with a FTDI chip set.

For TS-590 twin, COM2 must be used for the radio-radio control. if you want to connect a PC you do that via com1. You set com1 in Radio-RRC to mode 7. The PC can be connected via USB to com1.

Thanks again for quick reply, but do i still need the RS232/USB with the FTDI chip??
So far i have not found the product in any store in Norway.
-
No you do not need it you can connect direct with USB
Here is one with FDTI anyway
