Title: codec-config for radio-rrc at location with low bandwidth

When the given bandwidth for the radio-rrc is much lower than for the control-rrc, is the following radio-setting (for example) correct?

Control:  8 - Linear 16 bits 16 kHz
Radio:    13 - IMA ADPCM 4 bits 16 kHz

Or should it be the other way round?

The settings are for outgoing audio, so you are correct.

but quality 13 is a very hard compression and listen on HF with that compression is not funny.

It also covers pretty much what I would suggest to you.

I would also follow the manual and use the same codecs on both RRC's. If you are using the PC Client, that is a different story.

thank you very much for your suggestions. I will take this into account.

But the remoterig-Website also says:

Dirk,

Yes, the same sample rate, but some people don't understand that and do crazy things,
so I just say it is much easier to use identical codecs. However, anything above 0 is
unnecessary, unless you use using FM, ESSB or maybe some digital modes, and/or if you
have two sold high bandwidth lines (going up). I am running several remote stations, only
one is using codec 2 and the rest 0 with no complaints.
