Title: Connection to ddns lost / SIP error .... after just a few minutes.
Post by: G8TLQ on 2013-09-08, 20:00:09
Hello,

I've configured the RRC-1258's for use with a FT-8800 and all seems to be well ..... but only for a few minutes :(

After a short while the Yellow (SIP Connection failed) LED begins to flash and the ddns connection is lost. Sometimes it returns after several minutes, but usually it takes a reboot to get it all working again.

If I use local LAN IP addresses (ie dont use ddns) all works fine.

Appreciate any help or ideas ??

Thanks

Are you saying that you are using it within the same network all the time? If so,
you should always use the internal IP numbers. Some routers don't work if you
use an external number to reach an internal device.

Ah yes, I wondered if that may be the problem.
I'm trying to test everything, including the ddns, before I separate the units.
I will try again when I've set everything up at the remote location.
Thanks for you advice.

I can send you my checklist, which will help you prepare for this process. Just send
me a short mail at dj0qn (at) darc.de and I will send it to you.

Thanks.
After further investigation I found that the Port Forwarding on my router was incorrectly configured. I had failed to include Port 80 - so the interface was unstable.
All is working perfectly now.

Glad to hear it - that point is covered on my checklist as well, but it is always good to see when someone
can solve their own problems   ;)

Have fun with RemoteRig & 73,
