Title: Multiple IPs forwarding
Post by: hb9gce on 2011-01-12, 21:27:05
Hi all
I have forwarded the IP of the RRC in my remote router. Now, when I try to access to my remote fixed IP I see only the RRC interface and I cannot access to the remote PC. Is this problem due to the fact that my router doesn't support multiple IP's? Should I change router and buy a router that supports multiple IP forwarding ? Knows anyone a model of this genre ?
Thanks to all for the support

Hi Andy,

Each device needs to be addressed using a different port. For example,
the PC with hb9gce.dyndns.org:1234 and the RemoteRig with
hb9gce.dyndns.org:5678. You need to enter these in your router
accordingly to point to the correct internal IP number, e.g. port 1234 to
192.168.1.10, port 5678 to 192.168.1.11, etc. This way, an unlimited
number of devices can be addressed using the single external IP address.

You actually should always change the RemoteRig to a different port number,
because your router likely already uses port 80.

I hope this helps.

Hi Mitch
Thanks for the info. First I have to reset the router to the status before the setting of the IP forwarding and then I will try to set another port for the RRC. I hope it will work.
