Title: Hot spots
Post by: k5aup on 2014-03-13, 03:14:04
My Twin K3 control setup works great if I use my Verizon hot Spot but has lots of skips and blanks when I use my AT&T hot spot. These are separate units not on my phone. The Speakeasy.net shows 3 times the speed on the AT&T as the Verizon. I get 4GLTE on the AT&T and 4G on the Verizon. I'm using over the air internet service at the remote with a fixed IP and 3 up and 3 down speed. any Ideas or comments. I have enjoyed this setup greatly and appreciate the tremendous support of the forum.

Make sure you change your settings to optimize for the 3G network. Here are some suggestions:

- change CODEC to one requiring less bandwidth, i.e set audio quality to 0
- turn continuous RTP on
- change serial connections to 9600, which is sufficient for the K3 Twin

Play around with these 3 until you are satisfied:
- increase rx jitter buffer to min 10
- increase rx jitter delay to min 12
- audio packet size 20 or 40

Yes But if you have found out that one ISP is delivering good service and another bad, why don't just use the good one ? The bad one has probably too many user compared to his backbone capacity and that situation is difficult to solve in the RRCs. Mitch sugestions for settings of course a way to make the system less sensitive to the network problem but it might not be enough if the situatuaion is too bad.
