Hi, I am a new owner of thr 1258Mk2S units.
I will be living 50% of my time in Bangkok, and the other half at home at VK4. I am setting up to have fun from BKK in what little spare time I will have.
I have set the pair up for Mode 3 FT8x7 etc strapped appropriately and have communication. Audio, Mic PTT etc all work. All good so far.
I wish to use HRD to control the 817. I am having no luck connecting
I have used a usb>rS232 into com2 on thr Cont unut
II have also tried setting USB>com2 and using the usb cable. Same results.
I have run setup to get the Virtual Com ports appearing. Tried them all esp the one mapping to Com2. No Luck.
Settings attached
Cheers

HELP I leave for BKK in 8 days.

Hi.
Hpw have you connected the Radio ? If you have connected a RS-232-TTL interface to com2 it must be a real CT-62 or a interface which is powered from the radio or from a separate power source. Many pirate interface are "stealing" power from unused pins in the PC-serial port, that type cannot be used, as there is no extra pins in the RRC-comports.

there are a few errors
as I wrote before FT-817 use 2 stop bits
and in Control-RRC com 2 should be set "in parallell with com0" as you use com0/TTL for the connection to the radio
