HI all
I got a set of remote control boxes and am having real issues getting these going !
having realised my mistake with the pc client sw I am now back to the two box solution
I intend to use a 480 or 706 as a remote panel config but thought Id first test the box on the network as standalone
Ive configured the two box IPs for my internal network and they connect ok but I cannot seem to get audio across the link
Ive tried all sorts ... first as transparent - as a Icom CIV even as an ICR2500
I am only trying to send audio across the network just now from an AOR5000
no control data etc
not sure what could be the issue
I assume I stick audio on the radio SP socket and with two connected boxed hear the audio in the control SP port
no jumpers etc are in just now
can anyone guide me??
no lights on the front
network is connected and shows in the status ok as the partner
????
what am I doing wrong!

For your experiment you can use CI-V mode. But you must "connect" either manualy via the Status page "connect button" or set Auto connect = yes in the radio settings. When using Ts-480 or IC-706, they will connect when pushing power on switch

yup did that ... I had got as far as creating a link but no audio flows over it
-
If the yellow led is ON on at the AUX/MIC connector the audio flows. If you have the same audio quality settings in both boxes and have the cables connected ok, No strapping are needed

hmm i have no yellow led at the aux
I guess its not getting a connection for audio

is there any reason the control box would continually reboot while I am trying to browse its config using the web front end???

Sorry to hear about your ongoing problems!
One possible reason for resetting while browsing to it could be corrupt settings. Have you tried resetting the settings to their default values? Which firmware version are you using?
-
Had the same problem some times ago - switch off the debug mode in the menu and your boxes will run stable. From time to time there is also a problem with the usb-connection. That can be solved by connecting the ethernet plug to an active network, then usb works.
I have a box running at a remote location with a TS-480 via WLAN-Link and ADSL, works fine!

Yes, debug mode should of course not be enabled unless needed. Sometimes the printouts get too "heavy" for the program to handle, and so causing a watch dog reset. Did not mention that since I didn't think someone had it turned on ;)
-
ok i dont know how I managed to get debug mode on
thats off now!
anyway still no connection between them
they are sitting on the same switch on the bench and cannot connect
all v odd
the web browser on the radio unit is extremely slow
Im down to basics ...... any poss that the units are defective?
Ill post the configs later but not really a lot in them
Ive even reloaded the firmware
????
ideas :( ????

The web browser being slow may indicate that something is overloading the CPU, which may cause the connection to fail too. Do you have USB connected or disconnected? Is the web browser slow even if you disconnect everything but power and network?

May I ask what you did to set default settings?
